Great guy......hope he kicks ass for them! You know he's gonna lay out Lillard when we play them!#closeline
I cant blame him, it is the best move for him. Could be his last contract, close to home, and I doubt he gets many mins
He was our second-best player on the Roy teams, though the media insisted falsely that it was Aldridge. Even when Greg Oden was healthy, Oden wasn't close to starting ahead of Przybilla.
It will be interesting to see what we do about the center position now. I would imagine they will try and still sign a center, but I don't know who they can get that would be starting material. Which begs the question...do you start Leonard? I can't imagine he'll be ready. The other option, IMO, is to move LMA to the 5 and start Hickson at the 4. I could see management liking the first option (develop Leonard, get a higher draft pick, keep LMA in his preferred position) and the coach liking the second (putting your best players on the court to win). That is, unless Kanales is the coach, then there's no difference between the management and the coach, as he'll be a puppet with no backbone.
Leonard should start, he's the only capable center we have now and already better at the position than LaMarcus ever will be.
PF: Aldridge, Hickson, Feeland, Claver/Babbitt(when going small) C: Leonard, Freeland, Aldridge, Hickson
A little-noticed fact is that Hickson and Aldridge have been on the court as teammates for only 6 games (we added Hickson late and Aldridge shut down early). In those games we were .500. And that's with Crawford and Felton, and Aldridge going into off-season surgery. The team was in utter shambles. With Batum coming in well-paid and having a nice Olympic run, Freeland clearly showing some great things against Spain, Lillard on fire in Summer League, and perhaps these two guys as our starting front court tandem, I think we're going to surprise a lot of people.
The reason that Aldridge suddenly came down with mystery health problems in a meaningless season as soon as we acquired an excellent PF in Hickson who played much more aggressively than Aldridge is...
