Arsenal can't officially announce that they have signed Spanish winger Santiago Cazorla González (Santi Cazorla) due to extreme financial problems at his former club, Malaga, but the player is in London training with the Gunners and has been wearing red and white for a few days. Cazorla, 27, was purchased for an Arsenal record-breaking fee of £16-million, and is the third major signing of the summer (along with winger Lucas Podolski and target man Olivier Giroud). Wenger's summer purchases have added considerable attacking depth to the team in anticipation of the sale of star striker Robin van Persie, who is expected to yield at least the same amount as Cazorla on the international market or more within the Premiership.
