Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, on the disabled list since July 16 with a right Achilles strain, took batting practice at Fenway Park on Tuesday, one day after receiving an injection in his heel.

Ortiz hit the ball with power to all fields and said he'll need at least three days of pain-free workouts before he can play. The All-Star designated hitter hopes to be ready for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians.
