Wants to push the ball and believes in the outside shot to create space.

Sounds like his philosophy is unselfish basketball....

Said he called Dr. Jack after they won the championship because he said that Dallas team reminded him of the Blazers team.

Olshey says he talked to Dirk and many other past colleagues and they all said Stotts has a great vision.

Sounds like the anti Nate, The players will love him. If he can bring in a defensive guru, we are set for a few years

Thank God! My unequivocal number one quote while watching the Blazers the past three or so years has been, "Pass the Damn Ball!" Sure Brandon Roy had something to do with it, but Nate ultimately proved responsible.

Sure looks that way, especially after reading this:
"Part of my offensive philosophy is trusting the players to make good decisions and giving them the freedom to play within a structure to make basketball plays," Stotts said. "I think the league is going more toward players making plays, and to do that, coaches have to give the reins up to give them freedom."

(not sure if this next line is a paraphrase by Quick or what) Once the players develop trust with one another, and there is less dribbling and more passing, the game becomes one not of robotic plays and grinding movement, but one of feel, and flow.

Anyway, I am looking forward to this season; it will be a grand experiment. Can this particular group of players play and hopefully flourish in a "free" system? Will Batum be able to elevate his game? How will Lillard and Leonard and Barton develop? Will there be any surprises from Elliot Williams or Nolan Smith? Will teaching some fundamentals have an effect on the overall performance of the team?

You're boring, and you ride coattails on this board. Nobody is responding to your multiple posts in this thread, so I thought I'd liven things up for the sake of this board.

Wish I had more time to post, so this dud board would be interesting. The Blazers finally hire a coach, and "cool beans" is a top comment.

Fun and bad (record) is almost as much fun as boring and good ... and it sure as hell beats the shit out of boring and bad, so I say bring it on. Looking forward to being able to watch real team ball -- whatever the scoreboard.
