Take LMA out of the low-post and try to turn him into Dirk lite? LMA will love it - I am feeling the heartburn already!
Me too. A bunch of schmoozers. Schonely's walking around giving the obligatory hand shake and wink to all the media goblins.
Paul Allen is the only owner in the league that doesn't let his coach pick his own assistants. And we've seen how well that works out.
So you are saying to our GM, "don't be informed, don't give your coach input, and don't work as a team". Your coach is not allowed to use the GM as a resource. Tell your new coach "he is on his own in deciding who his assistants are and he will have to negotiate their salary as well. And although we are a team we do not act as a team." In the end I think it is Stotts' call who his assistants are. Neil said as much in the press conference. But wouldn't it be nice to have a GM who is informed?
It'll be interesting to see if Grgs still wants to come back to Portland. He was a lock if Kaleb got the job, would he still have interest now? Grgs would be huge in the development of Meyers.
Yeah I found it interesting that Neil said that both he and Stotts were working Grgs' camp all day. (When asked about the Batum "International incident") So maybe there is a shot.
I believe there was lawsuit over not getting paid his last couple of months when PA refused to pay him when Grg's refused to show up to work.
Who won? I can see why Allen might not sign him now, a bum with an attitude problem who probably won't honor his new contract any more than he did his old one.
It's false, at least according to a good friend of mine who is very close to Kaleb. Was he disappointed? Sure, but he still gets to work daily with players he respects, and who respect him, without being in over his head trying to learn how to be a head coach on the fly.
Wasn't Terry Stotts a trendy pick to replace either Dunleavy or Cheeks? I remember "this group" (on BBB, I guess, and probably ultimately a pretty different group, heh) talking up Stotts at a previous point. Not that it's relevant today, after he's had some head coaching experience, I just thought it was an interesting memory.
Sorry PG...... But I'm very close with Canalas and he's not that kind of person. Can't see him acting like that ever.
