Davey Johnson knew Jordan Zimmermann had plenty left to pitch another inning Thursday night.

But with his team up by three runs and Zimmermann's pitch count nearing 90, the Washington manager didn't see any reason to send his young right-hander back out for the seventh.

"I just didn't want to push him," Johnson said. "He's too valuable."

Michael Morse homered twice, Zimmermann matched his career high with 11 strikeouts and the Nationals completed a four-game sweep of the Houston Astros with a 5-0 victory.
