Re: UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II (Aug/11)

Just ten fights on this card leads me to believe we may see one or two more announced soon.

Cerrone vs. (the new) Guillard should be great. Cerrone will force him to plant his feet. Didn't like the hit-and-run Guillard we last saw one bit.

Not really looking forward to the other fights, including the main event.

As of right now there will be about a month between this show and the next (UFC 151) in September. Probably good for the UFC to take a bit of a rest.

Not the best card. Hopefully better than 149.

I do want to see Henderson put a good whoopin' on Frankie and drop him to 145. And I always love Cowboy fights. Except Diaz.

Re: UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II (Aug/11)

Meh. Edgar-Aldo would be worth watching but Frankie's been so damn good and so damn entertaining at LW, why mess with a good thing? Besides, part of the reason he's so adored is that hes undersized yet succeeds against bigger opponents. Put him at LW and he loses that underdog dynamic.

Any combination of Bendo-Edgar-Diaz-Pettis fighting one another in the near future is gravy IMO. Gimme any of them and I won't miss it.

Rousimar Palhares & Chris Camozzi are injured.

Yushin Okami will face Buddy Roberts instead.

And we have a controversy. Everything I read is saying Frankie was robbed. Must find this fight online and score it myself.

    Bendo getting the boo birds.

    Nate Diaz will beat him.

Hated the fight, personally. Didn't really care to see Edgar's pitter-patter juke and squirm style get him back the belt. The stats back up Bendo winning the fight but the nearly unanimous opinion seems to be that Edgar did better work. I dunno. I really don't care that much. I think Bendo/Diaz will be entertaining as will Edgar/Cerrone if they set that up (though Cerrone/Pettis is maybe more likely).

    Cerrone/Guillard was bananas.

Max Holloway is a promising young fighter.

Jared Hamman's corner should be ashamed they let him back out for the second round.

Eric Perez and Chico Camus both impressed.

Nik Lentz quietly logs his seventh UFC win.

    Bendo/Edgar 2 has a similar quality to Condit/Diaz.

I think Edgar is too fast for Cerrone and he won't take the leg kicks like Nate Diaz did. I think he out points him decisively. Now Cerrone/Pettis seems legit.

I think it may be time for Frankie to move down and fight Aldo.

I noticed it last time on FOX but I guess Bruce Buffer has changed his trademark call to "It's FIGHT TIME" rather than "It's TIME", wonder why?

Seems like the prevailing opinion online is that Edgar should've won but his style sucks so hard that everyone is relieved there won't be a rubber match. Yikes.

Dunno why this is, though Joe Rogan's clear bias did not help.

It was a very close fight, split decision to Bendo seems about right to me. Absolutely no way in hell was Edgar robbed. I think if I had to pick, I'd take Bendo by a hair.

Half of the blame for the fight being what it was has to go to Bendo. Guy tried to retain the title by kicking Frank in the calf and... I dunno, one guillotine attempt.

Total lack of killer instinct in the main event. Good thing the next one has Jones & Hendo who are murderers.
