<div align="center"></div>Incoming Players:Maurice Ager - The 28th selection of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks. The Mavericks were grateful in learning the Michigan State guard had fallen to them, as he fits the mold of the type of player Mavericks have leaned towards the past few drafts. Athletic, hard-worker, and plenty of college experience. Playing under Tom Izzo, definately doesn't hurt as well. For the current season, Ager should be expected to spend sometime in the NBDL, but don't be surprized to see Ager see the floor during the 82 game season. His ability to drive and hit the jumper should come in handy for this Mavericks team.Greg Buckner - Mavs quickly signed Buckner to a portion of the MLE following Mike James' decision to sign in Minnesota. He currently is being penciled in as the starting shooting guard alongside Jason Terry this year and is known for his defensive skills on and off the ball. The former Maverick has also added a reliable three point shot to his arsenal and should play a vital role in the Mavericks surge towards returning to the Finals.(I'm Bruce Campbell)Austin Croshere - The Mavericks made their first trade of the 2006 Offseason, by trading Marquis Daniels, their oft-injured and oft-played three position player for Indiana's fan favorite and longest standing Pacer besides Reggie Miller, Austin Croshere. This trade has gone under scrutiny by several Mavericks fan as it is ideally, a trade that benefits Indy, talent wise. But as talented as Daniels was, he did not fit and was unable to get Avery's confidence. Van Horn was under the same light, and with his expected leave, Croshere became the perfect backup to Dirk and has proved a consistent playoff performer. Croshere's role should be akin to Van Horn, except this time, maybe it will actually be done.Anthony Johnson - Anthony Johnson aka Beetlejuice made his way to Dallas in a surprizing trade during the dreaded boring and dull month of July. Of course seeing as Dallas and Indy traded earlier, it made perfect sense for them to deal with one another again. The move sent out lockeroom/bench leader Darrell Armstrong and two NBDL All Stars in Josh Powell and Rawle Marshall to Indiana. The move right now doesn't make any sense for Indy(Harrington debacle) and perfect sense for Dallas. Dallas who had been in the Mike James sweepstakes, glady added that third pg in Johnson, who will not only provide insurance in case of injury but a steady three point shot and good perimeter defense. Devean George - Coming off the Johnson trade, Mavericks made it clear their next moves were to bring in a backup small forward and a third string poward forward. Enter Devean George, whose name came out immediately after Mavs acquried a free Beetlejuice. Devean George is a savvy veteran and has already experienced plenty of playoff, Finals and Championship experience in his past 7 years in La-La Land. He has shown ability to hit the three when open, brings athleticism and hustle that shows his rebounding capabilities, as well as being a above average defender. George's role could be sporadic at times, depending on his health or whether or not he can rise above the veterans Buckner and Stackhouse.Pops Mensah-Bonsu - What seems like and should be the final move of the offseason by the Dallas Mavericks came shortly after George's signing. Pops fills the the role of third string power forward, held last year by Josh Powell. Pops impressed with his stint on the Mavericks summer league team, outplaying his counterpart Powell in the games. He brings again freak athleticism(sounding like a broken record but shows what Mavs want) and ability to grow into a unique player down the line as a tweener between the 3 and 4. Offense needs work, currently only consists of powerful dunks, that during his college years at George Washington led to fans tossing Pops cereal onto the floor. Also, needs improvement in the fundamentals, was careless at times during summer league. All in all, with Ager, Pops and Pavel as the 13th, 14th, and 15th man, there's plenty room of development among all three and Pops/Ager should get plenty down in NBDL, talks of Pavel going to Europe for seasoning.Outgoing players:Marquis Daniels - Acquired by Pacers via trade.Darrell Armstrong - Acquired by Pacers via trade.Keith Van Horn - Free agent, has yet to sign. Nuggets appear to be frontrunners.Adrian Griffin - Signed by the Bulls. Rawle Marshall - Acquired by the Pacers via trade.Josh Powell - Acquired by Pacers via trade. Pavel Podkolzin - Waived, expected to play in Europe. Mavs will stay in touch. Final Roster Spot(to be earned in training camp): Ndudi Ebi - 4th year forward who was waived last year by the Timberwolves. Came out too early and currently is trying to play himself back into the NBA. A possible DeSagana Diop. Can play the 2, 3, and 4. Jose Juan Barea - Impressed Mavericks management with his play in Vegas Summer League, which earned him a invitation to the Mavericks summer league team in Rocky Mountain Venue. Quick, pass first pg, decent defender, lack of size may hurt in NBA. A mix between Nash and Boykins. Darius Washington - I felt he came out too early, which led to him being undrafted. Seems to reflect similarly to our pgs, rather then a change of pace that I feel will hurt him in obtaining the final roster spot. Good driver, NBA body, jumper is improving as seen in summer league. I think he'll find a place in this league. Pat Carroll - St Joe's sharpshooter, teammates of NBA players Jameer Nelson and Delonte West is looking to join the NBA as his brother did a year earlier. One dimensional player, one of the better three point shooters out of the draft class. Could stick on to Mavs if they feel the need to stash a three point shooter ala Kerr for certain situations.
