Hopefully you do better than I did the first time I went to look at rings. I'd been reading up on what I should look for in a diamond. Couple that diamond focus with the fact that I was pretty nervous, and I forgot my now wife's name. True story -- next to the time I asked a college friend her due date when she wasn't pregnant, it was my most embarrassing moment. The sales person was just making small talk and asked my wife's name and I blanked for a solid two minutes (which, by the way, is an eternity in that situation.) lol

    I like this place: http://www.margulis.com/

Or, tell you love her with a ring from Walmart or Fred Meyer.

Congrats ABM. The less time someone is on this board, the better for their psyche. Plus, telling the new wife that you're an internet forum nerd may be a deal breaker. I'm sure we'll see you back in a few years after the honeymoon phase is over, and it's back to just watching TV at night. :)

Your first Target Card purchase gets you 20 or 40 or some large percentage off. Combine that with showing up at 8 am for a 2-hour Labor Day sale, and we got a $5000 ring for $1500.

You got a $1500 ring for $1500, at best. Target isn't the second-leading retailer in the US because they give you quality.

Actually that's the exact reason they are successful. Unlike their competition they actually sell a lot of products which are Made in America, whereas their competition sells lots of crap made by the slaves Romney built his fortune on.

And of course, all of us 2nd Amendment-loving Real Americans like the Target logo.

Take a road/train trip up to Seattle for a getaway weekend, stay at the Inn at the Market (http://innatthemarket.com/) and walk by EE Robbins (http://www.eerobbins.com/). EE is high quality and pretty much focuses on engagement/wedding rings. Way back when they were also a much better price than Tiffany's, which is uniformly high. Ed can tell you the hipster places to hang out in Belltown and can maybe hook you up with some Karaoke tips.

That pretty much says it all! Congrats ABM!

I hope to be posting a similar announcement in a year or so. I've found the girl of my dreams and, like you, am happier than I've ever been in my life.

    "Found"?

I'd have thought you'd eventually steal your wife in a 3-way trade deal.
