Dude the Raptors aren't going to be yet. Especially since they lost Mike James. Their offense might be decent but they suck on defense.

I have all the respect in the world for Bosh who you forgot. TJ Ford is good, but the rest are just decent, I'm sure Raps aren't going anywhere near hte playoffs this year, CB4.
It is ridiculous that they are putting Miami as the top in the power rankings considering all the additions the mavs got and the Heat team aging quick.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (GArenas @ Aug 3 2006, 04:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Rank 13, they like us they really like us. They say that Gilbert is a MVP candidate this year, cant wait to see what we put together for the new year with our more powerful bench!</div>Wiz are 10. Nuggets are 13. Wiz were 13 last year. Anyways, 13 is ok, I think we are better than the Grizz though. With the addition of JR we are a better team and if we trade KMart we will be even better.Lol they spelt Greg Buckner with Gregg Buckner.

Is this based on the offseason acquisitions than I feel Dallas should clearly be on top of that list.
Well im not surprised with Miami topping the list after coming off a championship so it kindof goes without saying but definitily I would agree that Dallas is a better team come this season then last, probably better then the Heat who dont seem to be getting any younger.About the Raptors I think alot of people underestimate all the players we added this season, alot of people just see them as scrubs because they have never heard of the likes of Bargnani, Garbojosa and Parker. Im not saying that they will be in playoff contention this year but their future is really bright with the nucleus of Ford, Bosh and Bargnani. If i were to rank them in the Power Rankings I would put them in the 21st slot.
Wow, Im done trying to tell people that we will be good. I'll just let our season do the talking. But to GArenas, you havnt even seen any of the Euro players, so how would you know if they sucked? FYI, Anthony Parker was probably the top Euro player last year, and judging by stats, he is good at EVERYTHING.Fred Jones will be even better in a running system. He will contribute points, and defense. I expect Bargnani to score around 10 off the bench. And all the Euro guys will contribute. TJ Ford will run our offense too, and he should improve quite a bit without having to share minutes with Mo Williams.

The only good players you guys got are TJ Ford and Fred Jones. I'd take Mike James and Villanueva over them anyday. Bargnani may turn out good but I doubt we see anything out of him this year. I do think in the weak bottom of the East you guys will be close to the 8th seed but I don't see you guys any better than 20th in the league. Colangelo is getting that team on the right track though.Nitro, many people have Wade in the top 3, but when a guy thinks he's better than Kobe then that's not really a guy you'd want on your side. I agree with Melo's comments.Phoenix could go up one but I definetly understand why the Spurs can be ahead of us.Mavsfan, Miami should just be there since they won but you guys will pass them after the first week on the power rankings.Chicago should be AT LEAST higher than the Nets and you could make an argument for them to go up a couple more. Wizards are overrated, Rockets too low. And I think Boston and Atlanta should be a bit higher. I also don't like the Hornets that high. I haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet and I don't think they'll be higher than an 8th seed in the playoffs.
How would you know that they're not going to be good? And all the guys we got are definately better than Mike James, Villanueva, Eric Williams, Hoffa, and Matt Bonner :happy0144:

By two guys, I meant two guys that will actually help the team. Being, Fred Jones and TJ Ford. I am not counting Bargnani because you gave away Charlie V. Villanuevea is WAY better than Bargnani will be this year. He is weak around the basket and he needs time to develope. The rest of them either suck, wont be good in the NBA, or are foreign players that dont guarantee you anything. And you are yet to tell me who on that list they will finish above.
Andrea Bargnani- Has a ways to go before he can live up to that #1 pick statusPJ Tucker- I don't think a 21 year old will make much of an impact in his first yearTJ Ford- Good signingAnthony Parker- Oh joy, a 31 year old who averages 7 minutes and 2 points on 41% shooting in his career.Fred Jones-Good bench playerRasho-not good at all, very average centerUros SlokarJorge Garbajosa- Two big men that can shoot. How many of these types of players have been busts before hmm? They could be good but Euro big men need time to adjust(mostly talking about Slokar). Garbajosa could be good off the bench but nothing special. And at 6'10 230 pounds, Slokar will be killed by big men inside.
First of all, TJ Ford wasnt a signing. Second of all, Anthony Parker averaged 15, 7, 5, 2 and 1 last year in the Euro League, shooting over .500 percent. He is obviously a lot bettter of a player now, and he should start at the 2 for us.Fred is not just a bench player. He is athletically gifted, and should thrive in a running offense. I expect him to get around 12-14 ppg for us.
CB4, you are yet to tell us who the raps will be ahead of. If you looked at all of the teams ranked above them, they have made offseason changes as well that have helped their team. That, or they are just better. The raps have a pretty good future but they are too young right now. And why would you even say something about what Arizona Fan said above TJ being a signing? It obviously looks worse that you had to trade one of the best 2nd year players in the league for him....And as for Anthony Parker. He hasnt proved anything yet in the pro's. I wouldnt be so fast to think he is going to start for you at the 2 guard. I would much rather have an experienced player in Fred Jones.

Jones is good but one of the only moves that'll help this year. I'd take Mike James or Villanueva on the team instead.
