He's still unsigned. I know we're at 15 players, but I don't think anyone would miss Sasha Pavlovic, would they? Anyone interested? He does seem to be some kind of lucky charm. Teams that get him do mysteriously better. Teams that lose him do mysteriously worse. And we might actually be able to use him as we have no real backup PG.
There's something about having a 61 year old PG that doesn't make me think well of it. His game has long since left him. That said, maybe as an assistant coach.
If he wanted to come here and help our young PG's I wouldn't hate it. But I think he will hold out for a team who has more potential this season. We would need to cut Nolan or Price IMO. Not Sasha. Right now we have 3 SG's (Wes, Elliott and Barton) and 3 Pg's. (Lillard, Nolan, and Price) Regardless if you view Nolan as a SG or a PG we already have 6 guards. I would have preferred someone like Derek over Ronnie Price though.
I had the same thought, but I'd worry that Fisher still wants and demands too big of a role for Lillard to develop. Fisher seems like a great teammate, but he's still basically an alpha dog whenever he's on the floor, always handling the ball and launching shots.
Uh no. He's one of my most hated players in the league. I want this year to be enjoyable for me even if we lose-- so no players I hate please.
Fuck that fucking Fuck. Few things sports related would upset me more than Fisher having anything to do with the Blazers. At the moment, I can't think of one.
Many players better than Sasha and Ronnie Price will become available for free before the regular season starts. But Olshey thinks like a Clipper, so he set up a losing season.
Funny: some players I hate everywhere they go. Other players I hate when they're on the Lakers but can forgive them. I actually like Pau Gasol, but to this day I hate Rick Fox. Fisher I guess I don't hate personally. But there is an awful lot of the Laker stench upon him, I suppose.
You assume. Except that, of course, the Clippers under Olshey had a winning season. And Sasha was a throw-in in a trade, and Ronnie Price's role is to be our star rookie's buddy. Who knew that the 14th and 15th players on our roster could have such a catastrophic effect, though?
me too. I disliked Rick Fox to almost an unhealthy level. but Derek Fisher? I'd be ok with him being a Blazer. Rather have him, even if it's just veteran tricks, than that one guy they traded for who I've already forgotten his name. Sasha Pavlofs dog or something?
"What Lakers point guard would fart around doing nothing the whole game and then hit a backbreaking three in the fourth quarter?"
"For Final Jeopardy, what is the dumbest reason that some amateurish GM could possibly have to sign one of the worst guards in the NBA?"
He was over-rated waaaaaaaaaaaaay back when he could still play, and I had no gray hairs at that time.
