I just heard on The Fan that the Pac 12 Network has yet to strike a deal with Direct TV or Dish Network... but they are on Comcast. I looked on Comcast's website but couldnt find the Pac 12 Network on their local channel lineup. Anyone know? The Beaver game on Sat is on the Pac 12 Network. Ducks are on ESPN, but their following 2 games are on the Pac 12 Network.
I checked on mine the other day and I had it on comcast. Can't remember the exact station, it was somewhere below ESPN, somewhere between probably 720-735 ish in there.
Thanks! I'll look when I get home. I read a few months ago that it was going to be part of Comcast's basic package... but I wont be surprised if its part of the Sports Package... that I dont have right now.
What a cluster. No Blazers, no Beavs. Why the Blazers and Pac 12 don't get this figured out before the season starts is beyond me. You'd think they'd want to know the fanbase has access.
Hope PAC 12 hammers out a deal quick..... I just switched back to Direct a couple weeks ago ad don't want to miss those 2 Duck football games.
maybe... but it also is the Blazers and PA who made the Deal in the first place with comcast with only a "Good Faith" clause or whatver that was.
The situations are a bit different...with the Blazers, they should've made absolutely sure that CSN channel was available to direct, dish and whatever cable networks on the front end. The Blazers got played on that deal because it apparently defaults to an exclusive license to Comcast and I'm pretty sure the Blazers aren't getting paid like it's an exclusive deal. I'm guessing comcast has more than a few customers purely because of the Blazer monopoly. The Pac 12 should've started negotiating with other providers earlier. I'd think they handle the negotiations on their own behalf, so at least they control the process. They just need to hurry up and get 'er done!
I think the way it is supposed to work is that the regional channel (don't know what its called, maybe P12 Oregon) is on the basic service and the national channel is on a sports package. I could be wrong though. I know down here in San Diego on Cox I only get the national channel and its on a sports tier. On a related note, the iPad app launched today. I think it's called Pac-12 Now.
Doesn't dish have some beef with AMC also? I don't know the details but I keep someone AMC commercials shit talking them. Dish is starting to look pretty crappy.
I got it! 720! Woo hoo! 720 & 420 is Pac 12 Oregon - I get... basic package. 421 is Pac 12 National - I dont get that one... so it must be part of the sports package.
You cant even keep track of who to be mad at anymore. You're mad at the Blazers and Pac 12 for not getting the deals done... you're mad at CSN and the Pac 12 for not getting deals done... you're mad at the Dish's for not getting a deal done.
I don't know, comcast, direct, dish and the cable providers are purely in it for the money and I kind of expect them to be lame. On the other hand, you'd think that the Blazers and Pac 12 would want to keep their fan bases happy and engaged. I'm guessing someone with the Blazers is in deep crap over the comcast deal because they pretty clearly biffed it. On the other hand, it seems like it's standard course of business for cable/satellite companies to play chicken with the networks, so maybe I cut the Pac 12 slack...for a week two.
I was just givin' ya shit. It's all about $$$ for all parties involved and they are all cashing in. The business side of sports often times doesnt jive with the fan side of sports. I'm just happy that his kinda shows that Dish and Direct arent willing to pay the $$$ to give their customers the channels they want and deserve.
