Miami at #1, what a surprise. These rankings are not reliable at all anyway and no attention should be paid to them, just today I was watching a show on NBA TV were they were talking about the rankings mid-way through last season.Miami was #4Denver was #5Dallas and SA-#3 and #2Detroit #1 along with a prediction of 70+ games won for the season and the NBA champions.Bit late on this one but Melo, if Dallas had won the championship Dirk would not have been named the best player, he didn't play good enough to earn that. He got his points at the free throw line but had some really off shooting nights.

He had off shooting nights, but if they won game 5 and then game 7, he woulda been MVP due to his amazing shootout with Wade and he was still best player for Mavs (although Terry stepped up huge).

i think Terry deserved finals MVP if it were Dallas winning. He obviously played the best on the team.

I agree with the top 5 order for sure and the top ten also seems good. I didnt really look that far down on the list though.O and by the way CB4, the only team on that list in front of the Raps that are worse than the Raps are the Sonics IMO. The other teams are just as good as the raptors if not better. Which most of them are better.</div>OWCH!! the sonics aren't that bad - they just made changes too late in the season- if they can get wilcox on board they will be in the hunt for a playoff birth!!! Remember i said this. Also they will BOLT out the gates..... you can quote me on that!!!hey isiah has moved to the bench..... next he'll be putting on a jersey - and become another overpaid knick gaurd [IMG]

If the Raps finish in the bottom 10, I will wear a Vince Carter sig for a year.</div> Ah, how did you end up with the 1st pick in the draft? Oh yeah, you weren't very good to begin with last year. None of your starters can be called an above average defender and you have a weak team. A lot of the NBA's bad teams have improved a lot and sorry but I don't think you guys have the firepower on offense or the defense to win many games.

What? We dont have firepower on offense? We have Chris Bosh for one. He is a superstar, and we have done a great job putting talent around him. Last year, we didnt even have a goddamn backup two guard. I think we have a great offense. We will be running next year, and with the players in place, we should score alot of points, and have an efficient offense altogether. As for defense, you dont need a great defense to be a good team. And our D has obviously improved. Now we have a decent Center instead of Rafael Araujo. Rasho can play defense. Mo Pete and Fred Jones can play defense too. So that is 3/5 good defenders in the starting lineup, compared to last years, 1/5. I think we will do alot better on defense. And hey, even if we still arent that good there we can still make it. Look at the Wizards, Suns, and Sonics two years ago.

He's a 7'0" sloth who's only in the league because he's huge and has a decent shot for a bigman. Jones is a tough player but 6'2" SG's are liabilities no matter what. Stop comparing your sitution to the Suns...Just because your GM is from Phoenix doesn't mean (and you can't) run that offense.

Well according to ballerman, who is a Spurs fan he is a pretty good defender. Anything at all will help at Center for us. Jones is a tough player. He is 6"2, but is still a good defender. And we will be running a similar type offense that the Suns run, so thats why Im comparing it to theirs.
