The St. Louis Rams have made another move to shore up their defense for the long-term, signing linebacker James Laurinaitis to a five-year, $41.5 million extension that runs through 2017, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Saturday. The deal, which includes guarantees that total more than $23.5 million, could be worth as much as $44 million for Laurinaitis, the source said.
