So allow the guy who incited an entire religion to hide in anonymity while innocent people die? Lets have some accountability for our actions, a rare and forgotten word in the internet age.

Right now the best way to protect people is to hand this dipshit over. In Benghazi it may have been a smokescreen but is it a smokescreen everywhere else?

Plus, he's clearly a loon. Thinning of the herd. Win/win

How predictable. I guess it needs to be pointed out AGAIN that freedom of speech in the United States has limitations, such as libel, slander, obscenity, sedition, criminal conduct such as bribery, perjury, OR INCITEMENT TO RIOT.

Wasn't the Ambassador's fault this filmmaker is batshit insane either. Guess life's not fair.

I watched the youtube. There was no incitement to riot. The film maker didn't do anything other than release an innocuous film of parody, which has been done for many religions and worse and no ill effects have been even close to the magnitude to the reaction from "The Religion of Peace". For you to suggest that this wouldn't be covered under freedom of speech and freedom of expression is both frightening and a reflection decimation of rights that have eroded as a result of being an overly politically correct society that treats Islam with white gloves. And it goes all the way to the top of the government.

There is absolutely no blame on this film as a cause of death for the Ambassador in Libya. He was killed by a psychotic army of brainwashed crazies.

What was the point of portraying their prophet that way if not to piss a large group of people off? You think Muslims were just going to laugh it off, like they always do when it comes to their religion? Just a little common sense please, instead of hiding behind semantics.

You get the last word, cause I'm going to bed. Make it count.

What's the point? Because he can. This is 'murrica.

Like I said, its not his fault the muslim religion is the craziest and least tolerant religion out there. What is the common sense? The knowledge that muslims are violent and have a low threshold for being offended? Thats our yard stick for measuring what constitutes free speech now? If you offend a group halfway across the world, you are no longer allowed to create parody or criticism?

Anything seems to offend them and their solution is violence and death as we've seen on many occasions. Why is Islam different than any other religion when it comes to the rules of free speech? You do something as simple as draw Muhammed and all of a sudden you're targeted for death. That's just ridiculous. No other religion plays by those rules, its just Islam. Freedom of speech isn't selective, its absolute. We need to stop apologizing for our inalienable rights based on the standards of other cultures that are still stuck in the middle ages.

I cannot think of any circumstance like this where the govt. has put a bullseye on someone within our borders. The closest situation to this one that I can recall is when Salman Rushdie wrote his book that pissed off muslims everywhere, but I think he put his name on his book.

By the administration's own admission, we have a 1st amendment here and people can write books or make movies that are unpleasant to some.

It would be one thing if they arrested him for an actual crime and once in govt. protection they released his name.

Yes, that is the idea behind free speech. Nice fascism, bro. The hatred on this board by chrisinpdx and others toward Christianity shows how hypocritical many posters here are in their own selected outrage.

The US Embassy in Tunis is now up in flames.

If the American people have any sense at all, they will boo Obama off the stage when he visits Letterman on Tuesday. Talk about a foreign policy disaster, and instead of putting the blame on those attacking US territory in other countries, our government instead outs some private citizen who made a stupid YouTube video.

Even though it has been shown that the killings in Libya had nothing to do with the video, the very thought that people would go apeshit crazy over a YouTube video by some no-name should be evidence enough that these are people who cannot be reasoned with.

I don't recall the widespread outrage, arson, and killings by Christians when the US government was giving out grants to fund "art" such as Piss Christ and other anti-Christian quasi-agitprop.

Now they've gone too far. What did Col. Sanders ever do wrong to the Muslims, other than provide them with tasty, tasty fried chicken?

To be fair, it appears as if they hate Hardee's more. I blame the chain's support of NASCAR. The KFC was just collateral damage.

Some obscure movie from some nobody incites the entire Muslim world?

This sort of spiking the football last week at the DNC, by the VP, doesn't?

The mob in Cairo was chanting "we are all Osama", yet our media can't connect simple dots.

"Osama bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive!"

Good point. Oddly, they would seem to support Chik Fil A, seeing how their extremists view on banning gay marriage (and gays in general, in the case of the fundy Muslims) seems line in the views of Chik Fil A's own opinion on traditional marriage. :dunno:

British and German embassies are now under assault as well.

Must because of some YouTube video that some guy in America made.

I'm glad that you get to define free speech. You'd be a nice little fascist.

You're the one setting parameters on free speech. That's what fascists do. Had you been outraged over all of the anti-Christian talk on this very board, I might give you some semblance of credibility on the topic.

Instead, you're defining "free speech". I think bigots have the right to insult Christianity and Islam equally. Just because one group acts like a bunch of animals when they are insulted doesn't mean that those making in insults don't have that right.
