Not much drafted behind him so hard to call it wasted.

I wasn't offended, but now that you mention it, I feel offended.

I wasn't implying that there wasn't any decent players in the draft behind him but the majority of them have done nothing as well. In all drafts it's a crap shoot that late in the draft and nobody predicted that Williams would have this many injuries. EW had as much upside if not more than the majority of them.

Does anyone else think that this sealed his fate with Portland? I don't think there is any chance Olshey/Paul pick up his option.

I would bet we don't pick up his option.

I posted this in another thread. There's no way we pick up his option.

Is Smith going to be more of a 6th man guy now at the PG and SG spot?

Brother, it is going to get ugly when Lillard gets into foul trouble(can't believe I just said this about an unproven rookie)....... He goes up against Nash/Westbrook/CP3/Tony Parker/Devin Harris in his first handful of games!

Um Babbitt too, especially when you need to have your memory rebooted.

Babbitt is a pretty bad SF, he's better in situations where he can play PF. I don't know how Claver is gonna fit in yet.

Claver is going to be the 1st SF off of the Bench. Babbit is garbage and is more and more looking like Trade Bait. I STILL don't see what anyone sees in that cat.

That's he's already a couple of years ahead (and with higher upside) than guys like Bonner and Novak and only a slight tier behind Ryan Anderson. Did you miss him shooting 43% 3pt last year? Guy doesn't even make double the vet minimum.
(yeah, white 3-pt-shooting 6'9 guys FTW!)

All of which was done in garbage time (ends of blowouts and end of the season when nobody else was playing). I watch every game. I don't miss any.
Babbit, while being better than previous years, SUCKS...

Bonner, Novak both suck too. "Slight tier behind Ryan Anderson??" Ryan Anderson is 6'10" 240 and gets 16 and 8. Babbitt will never average those numbers even on a different team.

Anderson is a STARTER in this league. Babbitt may NEVER start. Are you only comparing them because they are both white? Because babbit isn't half the player Anderson is.

I would rather see Claver get more minutes as a regular reserve. However, Babbitt may get more time in the first half of the season in order to raise his stock value as trade bait.

There's a chance that could happen. But I think we get more by simply letting him go at the end of his contract. Do you really think someone is going to trade for Babbitt? I don't. He may be involved as filler for a trade. I still don't think that will happen. Let him play out his contract and keep the cap room. It's not like it's KP and Raef Lafrentz's expiring deal.

At best, we might get a 2nd round pick for Babbitt. Depends on the team having interest in him. That's worth exploring. It's not like our team is on a playoff trajectory this season anyhow.
