USC's first TD, the RB was in a bear hug of one of his OL and carried into the end zone. That's a 5 yard penalty, but the refs awarded a TD instead.

Then, 2 very poor pass interference calls against Stanford- one led to a USC TD.

It's hard to recover from 2 TD's playing a team like USC.

And there's a late hit when a Stanford player was on the ground 7 yards out of bounds- no call.

Now, it's also worth noting Stanford has missed 2 FG's.

This is a really good game. No matter the outcome the Ducks should jump over USC in the polls.

    More like OUT of business.

In all seriousness I'm happy for Stanford. Great to see them shit all over USuC like that.

And it only increase Oregon's ranking when Stanford comes up to Autzen and gets screwed

    Several thoughts...

First, 10-14 of USC points came from horrible calls, or non calls, from the refs. Just a series of blown calls. Stanford held strong in the face of that. The game was not as close as the score indicated.

Second, Barkley has always been a QB who fails under pressure in the pocket. It's still true in his senior season. Give him time with deeply talented receivers and he'll kill you. Pressure him and he falls apart.

Third, Stanford ran very effectively against the Trojans.

Fourth, the Trojans are a very poorly coached team. Scary good talent but just can't get it done on the field. Or maybe it's the LA culture or the money the players get from the boosters.

This sucks as far as I am concerned. While I am glad they lost

    1. USC undefeated when they play Oregon would have been better for us and the conference

    2. Directv and the PAC 12 Network had a better chance of getting done if USC remained dominant

This may give us some leeway to drop a game, but if we loose head to head at USC, this won't matter much.

also in the national scheme (if people are looking ahead to such things) where USC is ranked when we play them wont matter if we win out one of LSU and Bama has a guaranteed loss already. and we would jump them undefeated.

    Couple thoughts....

USC's first TD was bunk!! You can't have a lineman toss his own player in the endzone as BP said... how that play wasn't reviewed is beyond me...

This game had everything to do with USC's center not being in... there were many botched snaps to Barkley that he had to improvise on and that threw off his timing and his check offs... Let's not forget that Stanford laid paint on everything they saw on defense. Those boys came out to crack pads for an entire game! They played very very well!

Stanford's QB isn't that good, but he's got some very good TE's as targets that I was amazed they didn't use more in the first half. Those kids are very tall and are "trees" to bring down. Let's also not forget that had Stanfords kicker shown up yesterday they'd have won by 13... The other thing that I hope Chip and company saw was that USC was giving them 10 yards of open space to work with right behind their LB's the whole game. Stanford could have made a living with their TE's in there all night!!! We can do the same with Colt and Pharoah and once they suck their DB's and safeties in we can hit them deep.... Let's also remember that Mariota is twice the athlete that Stanfods QB is too. So when Marcus takes off USC is in trouble...

Stanford on defense is very susceptible to screen passing... DAT is going to light them up if he get a quick 8 yards pass in space to work with...

One thing that stood out to me as well is Stanfords defense wasn't fucking around on tackling.... they tide up Lee and Woods by the legs and brought their asses down... Oregon has a tendency to overpursue and if Woods or Lee is missed their YAC yards are lethal! Oregon needs to be crisp and not make stupid penalties with either of these teams...

I'll also be interested to see if USC doesn't implode now... The national championship is done for them and today the best they can hope for is a good bowl.....The chances of them beating us twice are almost none and BAMA is really really good!! I'm not sure USC can beat UCLA right now.....

Oregon to date hasn't played a complete game! That worries me a little... That said we have weapons and more weapons... We also have that "IT" player in DAT and I don't think anyone in the country has anything like our Momba!!
