Sadly, imho, that ship has sailed, hit a reef and sunk. the media is in the back pocket of the parties, and at this point it's no longer a surprise when someone does something like this.
It's kinda funny. Hannity has always claimed his is an "opinion-based program". Is there supposed to be some kind of line between "opinion" and "unbiased"-based reporting when it comes to the press?
Judging from Hamby's page on CNN: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/tag/cnn-political-reporter-peter-hamby/ He's a reporter assigned to cover Ryan. In that light, he's not doing op-ed or some other sort of column type work where his opinion and bias is reasonable. IMO
a show can be the straight news, or it can be an opinion show if a channel shows a bunch of right/left winger "opinion" shows, you can kinda guess their lean, no? its fucking entertainment at the end of the day

You edited out the important part of that phrase. Tweeting is NOT the dissemination of "newsworthy" information to the public. It is mostly mindless drivel sent out to nobody in particular by an individual's need to feel somebody gives a shit. Like a message in a bottle. Setting that fact aside for a moment, I see no violation of the canons of journalism in tweeting or printing facts about a Presidential campaign.
