Suppose Chip Kelly goes all the way for the win this year, beating either Saban, Miles, or Stoops, Fisher or whatever in South Beach. Will he take off to the NFL for some struggling team like the Raiders, the Browns, or the Jaguars or the Cardinals?

I see the only way Chip can stay is if Eugene offers him a monster contract, like, $20million for 10 years, $12million guaranteed. That way, he can become the 'Nick Saban of Offense' of College football and create a dynasty in Eugene. Who knows, maybe if he does stay he'll get a statue in front of the Autzen Stadium(after winning some championships)

That's only 2 million a year. CK makes a more then that now. This wouldn't keep him here. I do think there is a chance he stays at Oregon even if we win the natty.

So, $30 million for 6-10 years? What kind of contract would he accept?

He has to beat a SEC team first.

Will he stay if he wins a NATTY?

    Good question.

One the one hand, why not stay somewhere where you're revered like a god? Good money, nice area, just when you're sick of a kid he graduates...

The again, coaches are competitive people. He may want to take a shot resurrecting some program close to home or try the NFL... and who could blame him? That said, the NFL coach graveyard is strewn with great college coaches and Chip's a smart guy so he may want to avoid that.

So, my personal opinion is that if he wins a NATTY, he's gone to the NFL.

Then they'll bring in Chucky or Dungy and we'll be on top again....

I wonder why the NFL would be interested? No NFL team runs anything close to the Oregon offense. The Redskins tried something similar in bringing in Steve Spurrier and it didn't work. The Ducks offense works because of our superior athletes, and it's much harder to get that much of an edge at the pro level.

I don't understand how a system like that could work in the NFL either. I still think the West Coast offense is the best bet in the NFL.

I think Chis is a plenty good enough X & O coach to make it in the NFL. I just wonder who would replace him and if they'd keep his system.

Give him a monster contract. Make him build a dynasty in Eugene I say. Don't go to the NFL
