Remember the outrage when Breitbart released an edited tape of some lady in Georgia? Funny how this tape "stops filming" literally the second after Romney's so-called damning words. Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal. At least David Corn was forced to admit he lied when he said he had posted the entire video, so at least we know he is an admitted liar. http://www.politico.com/blogs/media/2012/09/romney-video-missing-one-to-two-minutes-135987.html
Unless that 1 or 2 minutes has Romney say "now, the next couple minutes I'm going to say shit I don't actually believe, and i'm doing in a character I'm creating for a satire...." then big fucking deal it's missing clips. desperation isn't becoming of you PG
http://twitchy.com/2012/09/19/just-...o-admit-missing-segment-in-full-romney-video/ Corn's misspellings in his tweets crack me up. Run, Forrest, run!
"And now for my best Montgomery Burns impersonation..." "Now I'm not waging a classwar, but if I was I might say..." "No this is actually a roast of myself and my character so the next few things I"m going to say are exaggerated..." "Just because I used to play practical jokes on my blind high school teacher, doesn't mean I'm a cruel soul. But..."
http://hotair.com/archives/2012/09/...ney-missing-1-2-minutes-of-remarks-on-the-47/ Perhaps Mother Jones should just stick to stories about weed.
Why won't Mother Jones release their full tax records, I mean full tape?! What are they hiding in those last 8 years, I mean 1 or 2 minutes?!
Given what Romney was saying . . . probably best it's gets cut off. Now he can explain what he meant at the debates. I truely hope he doesn't feel like he has no obligation, duty or concerns to 47% of Americans if he wins this election.
Romney may not have a good memory of something he said to a small audience four months ago. Anyhow, in film and TV, there's this thing called "continuity." They might do several takes of a scene, even on different days. Someone has to pay close attention to little details, like what the actors are wearing, what props are visible in the background, etc., so when edited the scene looks like it was done in one take. http://not-yet-europe.com/2012/09/19/romney-tape-gap-not-recording-error/
Only the GOP could turn around all of the statements Romney made about the poor being lazy into "Look the left wing media excluded something! They are hiding something!"
Seems those on the left get criticized for attacking the messenger and not the message. But here...let's attack the messenger and analyze recorder placement? I love the hypocricy that runs rampant in politics. Both from all of the politicians and those that debate it outside as well.
What if he were answering a question of political analysis? For example, what if he said he doesn't care about those 47% in terms of trying to get their votes rather than not caring about them period?
I think Romney has trouble talking strategy publicly. Only a fool really believes he wouldn't care about the middle class or the poor, but he says stuff like "we have programs for the poor, they're fine" or this latest one and it's somehow big news. They're burning our flag in 20 nations right now, and they've sieged our embassies. The administration claimed it was about a film, firmly denied the attack on our ambassador was coordinated, then put a bullseye on some guy with a criminal record to hide their tracks. Today, they acknowledge for the first time that it was a terrorist attack (http://thecable.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2012/09/19/obama_official_benghazi_was_a_terrorist_attack). And Romney's gaffe is the headlines? Why are you so interested in talking about the gaffe and not the rapidly deteriorating situation all around the world, just after the DNC made hay about how great Obama's foreign policy has been? LOL Someone has control over the media.
Flagged by Glenn Beck!!!! Oh, well, Glenn Beck would NEVER say anything that wasn't gospel truth! Breitbart was panned because he selectively edited tape to make it look like people were doing the opposite. That ACORN was abetting prostitution. That a Department of Agriculture employee Shirley Sherrod was racist. That Planned Parenthood was ignoring child rape. When the full tapes were released it was clear that Breitbart had edited for the purpose of turning words into their opposites. If the tape actually says the opposite of what everyone thinks, that Romney considers 47% of the population won't take responsibility for themselves, that a terrorist attack would be an opportunity for him, that the economy will improve just by his presence without doing anything, that the solution to problems in the Middle East is to do nothing, by all means, do what ACORN and Planned Parenthood and Sherrod did. Release the full tape. I hereby pledge publicly that if the full tape shows that Romney, like Breitbart's targets, was actually saying the opposite of what we heard, I will publicly apologize to you, PapaG.
Agreed. "You didn't build that!" was about the aforementioned "roads and bridges" even though "that" would be "those" or "them". Of course, only the GOP could spin.
The Shirley Sherrod tape was about the audience reaction to her questioning whether she should help a white farmer (they cheered), not about Shirley Sherrod.
The video was made in May. You have any doubt the campaign sat on it until they felt it necessary to disparage Romney further? If it is as obvious to you as it is to me, then Corn's role in making it public (e.g. campaign hands him video, says publish this) makes him a tool and a fool. I see Corn on MSNBC plenty, and most of what comes out his mouth is just wrong. He's getting what he deserves.
