The universe is finally realigning itself after that 2006 shit. Brandon Roy will play for the team that drafted him, draft the stache is in full effect in Portland. Yikes.
Oh my god. If a guy like that can make even the slightest positive impact in Portland he will be a local cult sensation and revered like few before him.
And when I say "guy like that" I'm not talking about his looks exclusively. The honest answers, the non-coached, I don't give a fuck approach in dealing with the media, it all adds up. All he has to do is contribute in a very limited fashion and he will be God of Portland. This is an extremely low risk, extremely high reward avenue the Blazers have taken. I applaud it on many levels.
Considering the public beating he's taken for failing to live up to other people's superstar expectations of him, I'm not surprised at his f-u attitude. He's learned to cope with it. Good for him.
How ironic if he kicks ass for us this year and makes the all-star team with us for the next 10 years!
More importantly to listen to this song:
Me too. Him saying that playing basketball for a living isn't a hardship shows me that he gets it. I hope he has some game left, because I'd much rather have AMMO on the team than that dud from Boston.
Despite Lauderdale's mediocre collegiate numbers, I'm really surprised that someone like Stiemsma is in the league, and Lauderdale is not. He'll never be a major contributer, but he's a player in the right mold to be a great niche, bench 4.
Hey, it's an intriguing pickup. Morrison is a character! I hope he does well. Our backup SF position is pretty wide open. We have Claver, Babbit, Morrison, Pavlovich....
