So since the anti-American riots were directly related to Obama's horrendous foreign policies (according to a vocal few), this must be because of Obama's great foreign policies? Please tell me what to think, I'm so confused now.

You mean I can't just paint an entire region in one big brush stroke? There are people who don't fit my stereotypes?

This validates that it was an AQ attack against the USA, and not a protest against a movie.

    What was your point again?

It's nice to see some Libyans fighting over a burnt down building, I guess.

What is the point of this thread again?

So where are the photos of the "thousands" of protesters? The only photo in the linked article shows 6 guys throwing tin cans at a camera.

Just set aside your polital sides for a moment and be happy that at least in this one corner of the world it seems like there are good peaceful people who deserve the freedom and democracy they recently acquired. No statement about Obama or Romney, just step back and think for a moment how wonderful this is.

I've yet to see any proof that there are Libyans taking over a burnt down building. ZERO proof of thousands of them, other than an article that shows 6 guys throwing a can at a camera.

My statement was not directed at you, but just a general view I wanted to share. We get crap news all the time, this one is a glimmer of hope. If I come to find out its not a true story, I will react at that point, but for now I'm going to assume that this article is correct.

No, Libya is where Al-Qaeda planned and executed a revenge attack that coincided with 9/11. Pakistan, Egypt, Malaysia, Yemen, Tunisia, Indonesia, and France (among others) are where they're protesting b/c they hate mocking the Prophet.

I think it's great they're doing that. It's a sign of power that they now have. A voice.

You silence peoples voices and you control them.

Agree. I was just pointing out that there's a difference b/w Libya and those other places. From the day after the embassy killings, Libyans have been coming out en masse sending twitpics and FB posts and the like saying "we're not those guys (Al Qaeda and the terrorists). We like America!" Whereas in the places I linked to there have been protests about America's perceived anti-Islamic crusade. I'll just note that I haven't heard of significant anti-US demonstrations in any of the Muslim countries where there have been significant US/Western presence recently, like Libya, Iraq, Bahrain, Kuwait or Afghanistan.
