Interesting. I'd like to see a deeper analysis with more complete data, but it does jibe with other studies. http://washingtonexaminer.com/1.8-t...0-times-estimate/article/2508466#.UFsV7I1lQ19
So much for "bending the cost curve" http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/09/25/health-care-cost-growth-speeds-back-up.html
This should not come as a surprise to anybody except those blindly following Obama. There was nothing in Obamacare that would actually help reduce or slow skyrocketing costs.
Maris, I know you're just trolling as you always do (which is why I usually don't bother to respond to your posts), but there's a serious point to be made. Those of us who believe in a free market, don't just believe it's the best way to provide wealth for everyone, but because in an unfettered market (in the long run) all profits go to zero, it's also the very best way to control costs. Therefore if you truly want to bend the cost curve downward, the best way is to make the market freer, not make it more subject to government control.
So, in your ideal world no one makes a profit on anything. That seems counter to your oft-stated theory that 'incentives matter'. What's the point of doing anything as a business if there's no profit to be made? Everyone is on the hamster wheel, running harder and harder, trying and failing to gain a farthing? barfo
Apple invents the iPhone. It's got whiz bang software and slick packaging. After several years (the long run), Apple's competitors have commoditized the necessary features and you can get much cheaper knock offs running android. It's gotten to the point where Verizon is giving away the iPhone 4 (8 GB) with a 2 yr contract. That iPhone used to cost $500. So the iPhone is now free (how do you profit on free?). Nobody is on the hamster wheel, Apple just came out with the iPhone 5 (it's called innovation). Since you like links: http://homepages.stmartin.edu/fac_staff/dstout/ECN101/index.htm
I agree, because I believe in free speech. If someone wants to go after me personally on this board, I have no problem with it. Words don't hurt unless you let them. Everyone has the power to be offended or not offended. That being said, I do appreciate Masbee sticking up for me.
Hey it was actually a compliment to Maxiep and a shot on the rest of us! He called us all losers!! But he basically said Maxiep was only a step below being on a yacht banging a super model.
always the victim every second post on this board from you is going after someone else personally with a dig, if you cant take it, dont dish it out... and maybe massbee can report this to the mods too
