Michael Clay “just getting ready for the Huskies” after injury against WSU Posted by Rob Moseley 10/02/12 11:59am Sometimes you back into a question, or ask it vaguely, or try some other strategy. With Michael Clay, I figured I'd be up front. There's a conflict here, with many of your fans wanting to know how you're doing after not playing in the second half last week against Washington State due to injury, and your coaches not wanting you to say anything. So, what could he tell us today after practice? "Just getting ready for the Huskies," Clay said with a smile and a shrug. "Take it from there day by day." For the second straight practice, Clay today walked out of Autzen Stadium with the same gear as his teammates. He suffered what looked like a right leg injury on a sack late in the first half against WSU, and was in street clothes for the second half. "Something didn't feel right," Clay said today, of an injury that's tough to detect on film, until he motioned for a replacement and began favoring his right leg a few steps after the sack Saturday night. Whatever it was, it's caused him to "take it a little easy" since. I haven't seen any indication of medical attention -- a boot, a wrap, whatever -- to the injury. Could mean Clay dodged a bullet. Could mean there's no rush to bring him back, with a bye after the UW game on Saturday, meaning he could take the next two weeks to get healthy if necessary.
