i knew they weren't gonna re-sign jefferies once deshawn stevenson signed with the wiz. i think the knicks have improved defensively from last year with the additions of jefferies and drafting collins and balkman (even though they won't get much playing time). isiah has the right idea by adding defensive players. i know alot of people are against this signing but i am not. i think jefferies will help the knicks a lot defensively and he can play 3 positions.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...ries/index.html

This guy isn't going to get any minutes with that crowded backcourt.

what are you talking about???? he's most likely going to be the starting sf. a trade might go down too involving q. he also plays multiple positions.

Trust me he's not gonna do anything as SF, he's much better off being on the bench, scoring 6 ppg when you're starting is ridiculous. The Knicks are much better off trading him for Q.

Even if he did he would be caught in the whirl of the Knicks depth...he won't get more than 20 minutes a game. And like GArenas said, Jefferies isn't that good. He's a decent defender and hustle player but he's worthless on offense.

Like Jeffries is going to be relied on for scoring. They don't need him for that with the players they have, even the Knicks bigs are scorers in Frye and Curry. They need role players who play defense, rebound, get transition baskets. Not 10-20 ppg scorers, they have enough of those.

isiah signed him for DEFENSE. the knicks have plenty of offense. stop hatin on him for his offense cuz we can live with that. we struggled the most defensively. average defender or not i bet he's much better than anyone from last season. i don't care how many points he scores as long as he can get it done on the defensive end.

He was not locking people down last year when I watched him. He's just a freak in terms of size and a good hustle player. I just said he's terrible offensively, I know the Knicks have plenty of offense, i'm not an idiot. (I project the Knicks to get the 6th seed this season).

He knows how to play defense which is something that the Knicks need. I dont know if he will start but he will have a chance. And if he doesnt, he will come off of the bench and put in 25-28 minutes a night.

Jeffries is going to be obviously a hustle player for NY who can crash the boards and play decent perimeter defense. He makes bonehead mistakes, and sometimes when he's on the fast break, he just charges into a player and is out of control when he's handling the ball like that. He's a good guy to have, I guess, but with the attitude those Knicks players have I really see him suffering more.
