http://www.latimes.com/services/site/premi...tered.intercept<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"I can walk fine, go up steps fine," he said. "The pain in my knee is gone. What was causing the trouble, they went in there and took it out. Scar tissue was impinging the kneecap. It was stopping its mobility, so when I bent down it was catching my knee. I didn't have full range."He said the pain in his knee wouldn't go away when he resumed his workouts after a post-playoff break.Surgery was "the right thing to do. I can wake up in the morning and bend down."He's still working on his upper body, doing some light work on the exercise bike, and doing manual resistance exercises for his legs while lying on his back. But his main agenda this summer is resting the knee. So no national team, no pickup soccer."With scar tissue, they really want me to let it settle, just let the scar tissue heal before you get out there and start running around," Bryant said. "Your scar tissue comes back too quickly, you'll wind up having to do the same procedure again in a year or two."That was jarring. This could be a recurring thing?"If you don't treat it right, absolutely," Bryant said. "That's what scar tissue is. If you don't stay on top of it, just let it rest and heal itself, you're going to be back in the same situation. That's why right now we're taking everything nice and slow."</div>That's good to hear.

Very good to hear! While there was no doubt that he was going to be ready for training camp,is there any chance he can play in the USA exibition games?

Kobe yet again proves he isn't human lolDude is amazing... the determination to be the best is great. I expected him to come back rather quickly, knowing he's such a workahollic.

Hopefully he won't comeback too fast, or before he is ready, just to save a team in need. But by the sounds of it he knows what could happen if he does prematurely put too much stress on his knee, and it would be better if he rested it.Knee injuries are the worst. I get a lot of them

Credit to Kobe for playing in pain. The question is if Kobe needs the ball to be effective and if the answer is yes than I don't know how well he would fit on the USA team since they have enough offensive minded players.

I would of like to see this lineup for the USA squad: (I added some players, and this if Kobe's knee was never messed up)G - Chauncey BillupsG - Kobe BryantF - LeBron JamesF - Chris BoshC - Jermaine O'Neal or Rasheed Wallace (If Rasheed, let him play F and Bosh play center)

Rasheed is good enough to be the backup 4/5 though.
