Paul George has sometimes deferred too much in the past on offense, but he has been more assertive with Danny Granger out during the preseason.

George attempted 18 shots in the Indiana Pacers' win over the Wolves on Friday, with 10 coming in the first quarter.

“Danny is out right now and we want him to play with more assertiveness,” Vogel said. “He made good decisions. He very easily could have shot 12-for-18…You want to run offense through guys you think are going to be efficient. You need to have those touches and those experiences to grow the way you need to grow. That’s why it’s almost a blessing right now that we’re bringing Danny along slow.”
