So, this Muslim guy arrives in the US, begins posting on the web looking for people to help him carry out a terrorist attack, is found out by the FBI and they plant an undercover agent to "help" him carry out an attack on the Federal Reserve Bank in New York. Allegedly, he's supplied with bogus materials for making a 1000 lb. bomb, puts it in a van, parks it at the bank, returns to his hotel room, dials up what he thinks is a detonator on his cell phone, and waits for a big boom. He's now under arrest and, if convicted, may spend the rest of his days in prison. Obviously, this is a better result than if he had been left to his own devices and managed to plant an actual bomb, but it's exactly the same FBI procedure we saw here in Portland a few years ago. Thoughts? http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/10/17/man-arrested-in-plot-to-blow-up-federal-reserve-bank-in-new-york/
Why not just save the time and $$$ and arrest the bastard before he goes thru with his plan? Better yet, why not set up an "accident" and have a little explosion kill the fucker while he's making the bomb?
We should keep guys like this available 24/7 so that the next time one of our embassies or the like come under attack, we can fly 'em over in helicopters and drop 'em screaming from a couple hundred feet up into the crowd. That oughta disperse the "spontaneous rioters..."
I'm fine with this too. If someone is willing to dial the detonation, then he deserves to be locked up or worse. In this case, at least from the information currently at hand, the FBI did a great job. Kudos to the FBI and the Obama administration for thwarting another attack.
