    Hours after news broke that the Friday episode of the ultimate fighter pulled its lowest ratings in series history, the L.A. Times is reporting that Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen will coach against each other next and fight in April.

    Still no word on when Dan Henderson and lyoto machida are going to fight. Kind of strange that Hendo lost his shot completely. Seems April would be good for him too no?

    Word must've leaked yesterday because Daniel Cormier went on Twitter challenging Jones to do season of TUF but Jones thought he was a high-profile enough opponent.

    Are you kidding me? I can understand Hendo losing his shot, but not for Chael Sonnen. How the fuck does Chael get a title shot?

    My guess is FOX, in their infinite wisdom, decided that the way to save TUF was not to move it to a night that isn't a television wasteland but to inject it with star power. FOX loves Chael Sonnen. Unfortunately I don't think they realize that he'll be the fan favourite on the show since everyone seems to hate Jonny Jones.. If Hendo had a speck of personality he'd be there instead of Sonnen.

    This just doesn't seem like an MMA decision, same with Silva/Bonnar...

    Yeah, it definitely seems like its market driven. As for Forrest, FrontRowBrian is tweeting that Bonnar is stepping in to fight Forrest at UFC 155. Is this a retirement fight for both?

    Griffin handled Bonnar pretty easily in the last one and Bonnar was juiced up for it. The third might be different but the outcome is pretty inconsequential.

    Couple notes from the conference call...

    Jon Jones has an elbow injury, hence the time off and the April fight date. Makes TUF a viable option.

    Chael Sonnen will still be on TRT when they fight. Not thrilled about doing TUF but it is a means to an end.
