Looking up and down this roster and it's looking scary bad. I have never seen this team whith this less of talent. Or else Lillard turns into a star I can't see them winning more then 30 games. They need to do something to shake up this roster. Batum should be the first to go but now that they over paid for him by about 20 million dollars he's not going anywhere. Matthews are starting 2 is a 7th man on most teams, I don't even know what you could get for LMA? It looks like there best bet is hitting rock bottom and hoping this is a great draft. Only two ways to get alot better. Free Agency (Won't happen here) Or hit the lottery. Or else you're stuck in purgatory for years. Would rather sacrifice 1 season to get a star (If there is one)

Yeah, let's blow this team up and get even worse, because winning the lottery guarantees winning multiple championships. Yeah, that makes sense.

LeBron FINALLY won a championship. Unfortunately, it took him 9 years and he didn't win the title with the team that drafted him.

Without looking, do you have any idea who was the last No. 1 pick to win a championship with the team that drafted him?

It was Tim Duncan - drafted 15 years ago. And, before him it was David Robinson - drafted 10 years earlier. And it took two all-time great big men, drafted 10 years apart to bring a title to San Antonio. Not even Shaq won a title with the team that drafted him. I see no point in deliberately sucking, gambling by trading our best players for future draft picks and hoping we win the lottery. How well did winning the lottery work out for us last time? And, even if we draft a stud, chances are he leaves for a bigger market as soon as his rookie deal is up.

Tanking to win the lottery guarantees you'll suck now and will likely continue to suck. There is VERY little correlation between winning the lottery and winning championships. I'd rather put the best team on the floor we can, try to win every night and hope some of the young guys develop. Trading away your best player and hoping for a savior is fool's gold. Keep your best players and try to add to them. Get better gradually as your young guys developr. Add pieces when you can, but tanking is not the answer.

BNM speaks the truth. I've been trotting out that stat for years.

To answer the question, I see us going 41-41 if there are no major injuries. Don't forget that we have a All Star on this team. Of course, if any of the major players goes out for 10-15 games, we're done.

I'd offer to bet with you, but we all know that you wouldn't pay up if you lost.

So LA is an all-star. Mattews and Batum are average. Lillard might be good, Hickson....not sure about, looks like last year was more of a hot streak.

The bench is a total question mark. I don't see talent wise, how we are a horrible team, but they might struggle with the new offense etc.....the biggest wildcard is Lillard, if he becomes a young star we reach .500.

I wish we would win less than 30 games. But the reality is that this team is too good for that.

Which sucks because I want Shabazz.

Barring major injuries I see us winning 32 games.

I'm thinking between 30 and 35. We could do what Eric said and go over 40 if Freeland/Lillard both become studs and we stay injury free but I just can't see LA/Nic/Lillard not missing 20 between them. I think were gonna struggle learning the offense but have a respectable Home record and after the all-star break we will go on a nice winning streak.

We are doomed! Doomed I tell you!

    ...the 2005-06 season was fun.

But there is a high correlation between owning the #1 pick and adding a big star to your roster. We were the rare exception, along with Kwame and Candy Man.

And Derrick Coleman and Pervis Ellison and Kent Benson and LaRue Martin and Fred Hetzel and...

And there have been plenty of guys taken #1 that we're good, but not superstars. Guys like: Kenyon Martin, Elton Brand, Glenn Robinson, Larry Johnson, Danny Manning, Brad Daugherty, Mychal Thompson, John Lucas, Doug Collins, etc. I suspect John Wall will fall into this category.

Face it, the draft is a crap shoot. Even if you win the lottery, the chances of getting a future Hall of Famer, or a bust are about equal. And the chances of getting a solid, but unspectacular starter are highest of all. So, unless there is a sure thing, a LeBron, Shaq, or Duncan, there's little reward in tanking.

At the peaks of their careers, those guys were top 5 in the league for their positions. They were plenty good.

And sometimes the sure thing isn't a sure thing. Not just Oden, but think about LeBron. The Cavs had 5 seasons of sub-.500 ball before drafting James, and an additional sub-.513 team the two years after they got him. So 7 years of pain to get 5 years of Conference Semifinal or better ball. And then he leaves, gutting the team, and they are back to square one.

I bet it was a lot of fun being a Cavs fan during the glory years, but geez, the pain they went through to get there, and the hangover they have now.....
