I would not mind seeing this kid stay on the Blazers team. Seems as if Justin's game has a lot of similarities to his brother Jrue Holiday. I would hate for another mistake to happen. Keep Justin over Nolan.
Nolan isn't a free agent though. The dude has two more years left on his contract. He was a first round pick. You'd have to deal him for nothing.
I would just hate to see Justin go to another team and end up playing like Jrue Holiday does for the 76ers. I think Justin has game and I don't see Nolan being a big part of this team in the future anyway.
That's the NBA for ya man. There are tons of players out there with potential and talent that can't get a shot because teams have financial obligations to other players (Smith), and often players with better resume's (Morrison) will get preference over those with better talent and a weaker resume (Holiday), just like in any field. I've sort of turn to Kenny Smith's statements on Jeremy Lin on that one. I don't have the exact quote, but it was something like, "Every player in the NBA has the talent to score 15-20 ppg if given the minutes, touches, and offensive opportunity. Lin just got the minutes, touches, and opportunity."
Every player has the talent to score 15-20 points in the NBA, until defenses turn their attention to you and the scouts figure out how to take away your favorite moves. Reggie Miller would save moves specifically for the playoffs so that teams couldn't scout him.
People are just suckers for these fringe roster players. It's kind of fascinating. Well Paul Allen does fall in love with his point guards.
...which goes to show that Kenny Smith is a dipshit. Also a xenophobe - he's always whining about non-US players. (Yes, I know Lin is American, this is just another aspect of his dipshittedness.)
