Because in the past couple tourneys, the US team has not shown domination like we are suppossed to. The US team actually looked bad at times in the last tournament. Now that the team looks like they are unstopable, it is bad to diminish what they are doing.</div> What they are doing is beating teams that have 1/100th the talent....woopy. It's a joke...
^^ thats what they were doing when the original dream team was madei guess the world championships is just for bragging rights for now but when the olympics come up people will get REALLY excited about it..it wont be a joke anymore because they're going to be playing for the gold medaland that would be against the best teams in the world not just the ones who entered the tournament

Its not like every single game is going to be that big of a blowout. Their are still some solid clubs out there besides the US. Would it take a loss on the US side in order for you to take it more seriously? Now that I think about it, if the US lost, your opinion would just be "wow, this is so sad that they are losing to awful teams". Did it ever occur to you that even if the US is ALOT better than the other teams, that the other teams could win anyways because they want it so badly?

Two years ago is out the window, Larry Brown was a complete douche and the players were lazy. The USA will win every game in these olympics because we are far and away the best team, the players know the leagues and their reputation is at stake, we have Coach K and a few more 'fundamental good guys'. Yes their are solid teams but Argentina is not going to beat us again, outside their top 4 players none of them could make an NBA roster. We should win but if we don't it doesn't bother me, I know we are better, how we do in the olympics doesn't effect me. If we do lose to Argentina oh well, they can act like they are on top of the world but their asses will be back on the Bulls and Spurs the next season. And if we lose the anti-NBA media will have a field day and it will give me something to bi*ch about so i'll be happy.
On Sportscenter they showed some highlights of the game and it looks like LeBron has a very nice game. It's funny how they show the highlights and box score before it's televised here But I'm still going to watch the game.
Make sure and tell me what you guys think of Yi Jialian, he's a bigtime prospect there and had 14pts.
One advantage of being in HK is that I can watch it live. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Sure, its just China but when you beat teams by over 40 points, you will probably beat the best teams by around 20.</div>First of all, China is not an elite team with Yao Ming and Wang ZhiZhi. They were without either of them. With Yao and Wang, they probably would have won by about 20 or 25. So, no, it's not going to be a walkover, as the top teams are a cut above China.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Make sure and tell me what you guys think of Yi Jialian, he's a bigtime prospect there and had 14pts.</div>I thought he did really well, he made some nice moves offensively playing against guys like Bosh and Howard and Brand. He proved he can be effective against really All-Star NBA talent, and can do it while being the main offensive focus, not playing second fiddle to Yao and Wang. Defensively was another matter. Brand took him apart with his jumpers, Bosh made And-1s over him, and Howard outjumped, outrebounded, and dunked over him. His strength is a big factor.
I'm watching the game right now, all the Chinese guys are just standing there on the perimeter waiting for the pass.. they're a bunch of chuckers.
well i think it is a pointless game. a confidence builder - a tune up.Come down under and play the aussies. that will be worth watching. The U.S will still kill us but it will be closer than 40+ points.plus we got bogut

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>damn, i missed the game. If anybody uploads it, I would greatly appreciate it. I need to watch it.</div>Actually, you don't. There were like 50 turnovers, literally. It was a boring game to watch if you didn't really, really want to see it.
Brad Miller was on fire and Lebron James was awesome. I don't see how you would say it was boring but the crowd wasn't into it so maybe in that way it was boring.

Not to mention blowouts aren't really interesting.
I disagree. I enjoy a team that is on fire. The turnovers lead to some awesome highlights with dunks.

Yi Jianlian did look pretty good, and he was obviously the focus on offense for China - without Yao..And I'm happy he stayed 1 more year in China because thats what he needs, If he can just refine his entire overal game he could turn out to be a very good player..He showed he knows how to score on offense; he made some good moves
