I'm not gonna go into details, I'll spare y'all, but what are some methods you guys have for stress relief because right now all I do is workout. I'm going through some life changes right now and its starting to take its toll. Writing? Anything?
I try to find (at least some) good in all I'm faced with. Goes a long way in keeping the stress levels reduced. When the situation arises, learn to laugh at yourself. Self-deprecation isn't as bad as some might think.
I think the biggest thing that has helped me the most is finding really good friends and/or family, and spending some quality time with them. I remember going through a rough patch of stress, and what I needed most was forgetting about everything, and just shooting the shit with my sister and brother in law on the phone at the peak. Then, getting together soon after. It's what keeps me sane now. I found the solo "relaxation" activities people recommended weren't of use to me, at least. It made me think, and fester. But finding really, really close friends was the key. Not the type that are just hey, let's get drunk and you'll forget your problems! But ones where you hang out for an evening and forget about the world around you because of what's in front of you. I wish you the best. I deal with stress and anxiety on a daily basis, and the biggest relief has been getting together with someone closest to you.
I'm avoiding a lot of my social friends lately because they simply just want to drink. Thanks for some of the ideas, I greatly appreciate it. I have never really had to deal with the stress I'm dealing with right now and its impacting a lot of the shit in my life that I need/love/care about.
