@ChrisBHaynes: #Blazers will decline 4th-year option on Luke Babbitt. Will be free agent at season's end, @CSNNW has learned | http://t.co/Smlxmtbi | #NBA
I don't know how he ever scooped Woj or Bucher on THIS one..... Luke Babbitt not extended?!?! That's HUGE!
If he can shoot 45% for the whole year, he might get a 3 mil a year deal, but the Blazers want to clear cap space so they have the option to make a run at a player. The only player that really made sense last year though, is James Harden, and now it seems much less likely that we'll have a shot at him. I just hope they don't pick up the option on Williams or Smith either.
It was one thing when they were late first rounders, but lotto picks really shouldn't fail this badly. Taking Nolan over Faried was just plain stupid.
Haynes thinks this is a sign that Elliot's 4th year option and Nolan's 3rd year option wont be picked up as well.
Good and good. Let's use that cap space for something good.... or maybe we'll package tall three for something useful.
Why would they not pick up Babbit but retain Smith/Williams? Babbit has actually produced a lot more than either of those two. But it doesn't look like he's even earned a spot in our rotation.
When I read the thread title, I said, "Luke who?" I had to click on the thread to find out who / what you were talking about. Oh, yeah, Babbitt. LOL No, they should not pick up any options. These guys are replaceable. If we want to sign them after the draft and after free agency, we can worry about it then, just like with Hickson.
If Olshey keeps making these savvy competent moves, he's going to attract the evil eye of Mordo ... er ... Vulcan.
The scuttlebutt was that it was part of the deal of Andre Miller for Felton. That we agreed not to draft Faried (Denver drafted right after us) on top of getting Felton makes it one of the worst deals in Blazer history.
Agreed. I personally was against the Felton/Miller deal if it was just those two. Thowing in Smith/Faried and Rudy (pick sent to Denver) is beyond stupid.
