    What the NYT does isn't so much as to report the news in a way that helps the Left, but rather they ignore or downplay stories that could hurt the side for which they so openly root.

    Isn't NY already an Obama state. I doubt the NY times has much influence on voters from other states.

    They have influence in the sense that many journalists consider the Times "the paper of record". Their point of view is if it's not in the Times, it's not worth covering. In that sense, it drives the narrative.

    The NY Times is one of the most heavily trafficked WWW sites on the whole Internet. Their influence goes far beyond the state of NY.
