<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"They're capped out, with Iverson and the untradeable Chris Webber each making about $20 million per year, and the team has no identity. The Sixers don't defend, they don't overwhelm you with scoring, and they don't rebound. Their best hope may be that Andre Igoudala develops his star potential, but that will be very difficult playing with Iverson and Webber. Igoudala won't see the ball enough to emerge as a go-to player."</div>I agree with this statement. Even if AI has the same great year as he had last season I dont see them making the playoffs. They really screwed themselves over by getting Chris Webber, and by signing Dalembert to that contract.

I think we can make the playoffs...but we are not very good. I have a feeling that Dalembert may have a break-out year...but maybe that is just wishful thinking. But with the additions of Rodney Carney and Bobby Jones, i think we will do better defensivley, and do better than last year.

Carney isn't good enough at it to make an impact and Jones will probably barely see any playing time. We are basically screwed because of Billy King and because he had to go and send our cap space down the drain any chance of rebuilding now is ruined and any chance of AI getting a ring is ruined unless he leaves Philly.Dalemburt will now most likely never amount to anything since he already got his big contract and Kerr is right saying it is doubtful that Iguodala reaches his star potential unless Webber or Iverson leaves. We seem so screwed right now I don't even know where to start.

Rodney Carney is a hollova a player....I still think the 76ers should have nabbed Rondo instead but oh well. I generally agree with Steve Kerr, common sense/smart guy. He's right, young players are going to have a tough time with Iverson and Webber.

Exactly. The only way Iguodala emerges offensively is if either Iverson or Webber are fine with giving up some shots. I know Iverson is fine with it... but Webber sure as hell isn't going to do it.

He might average 2 more points, and 3 more rebounds I don't know.[quote name='iversonfan268' post='134563' date='Aug 7 2006, 06:46 PM']Why does everyone think drafting Carney and Jones will help our defense. When I said the Sixers will do better then last year I was not saying, because of Carney and Jones. I said they will help, but not to much. And are chance of rebuilding now is not messed up. If we trade Iverson, and make a smart trade not just a stupid trade then we can come away with 2 young good guys, and 1st rounder were we would have a chance at Oden with there pick, but more importantly we have our first rounder, and we will suck for sure then so we would have a very good chance at Oden, and have 2 young good players from the trade. And saying Sammy won't be anything now cause of his contract is stupid. He can still become good, and even with out the contract he might have been the same and not any better. You don't know were to start? Well that's why your not the gm.[quote name='BCB' post='134584' date='Aug 7 2006, 07:01 PM']Rodney Carney is a hollova a player....I still think the 76ers should have nabbed Rondo instead but oh well. Webber on the other hand I think might have a little problem with it.

I will start off by saying I agree with about 35-40% of what Kerr has to say about any team.

But the quoted text in the 1st post is right on the money. This team is capped out, and they need to rebuild. I also totally agree that Iggy will not fulfill all of his scoring talent in Philly as long as Iverson and Webber are there. That's why I think Philly needs to trade AI, as hard as it will be for the organization/fans to deal with. He's a great player, but let's face it - this team is not winning anything with this roster. They need to get rid of Iverson and bring in some young talent and some picks. Then, they will have the chance to fully develope Iggy's game, as well as Carney (I agree with you guys, he is going to be a good player. He's very solid, very athletic, not a terrible defender, and he works hard). I feel bad for Sixers' fans because even when they have a great player like Allen Iverson, they still are falling short. Philly needs to start over and rebuild with youth.

King messed up the entire situation by announcing that he's looking to get rid of AI, and when you do that other teams will surely lowball you instead of giving you closer to equal value for the superstar player.
