In today's NBA, being a superstar is more than just what shows up on the scoreboard. It depends o how accesible you are to the consumers (fans). You can be an MVP-caliber player and still only get endorsements from IcyHot (Shaq). And if you're not good-looking, nobody will call you (Sam Casell).Which players are just as capable selling products as they are scoring points?

Allen Iverson is just unbelieveable...He has fans from everywhere...He's right up there with Ming/Jordan in China....in CHINA....He's the one guy that sticks out to me.

Yeah easily Allen Iverson. Also LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Anthony have been very marketable.

Allen Iverson, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James are top three in my book. AI is #1, and then DWade and LBJ are neck and neck, especially now since Miami won the championship.Kobe is marketable, but he just isn't out there like he used to be...

McGrady lead jersey sales in China last year if I recall. It helped a lot that he played with Yao.Anthony probably has the "street cred" aspect after AI of course. so that helps. Wade is more "polished" so that helps in main stream america. LeBron does a little of both, though he is probably fitted in the street cred department right now.So yes, I break down NBA marketing on two levels, "Street Cred" and "Mainstream America". MJ was able to hit both equally. Few players (if any) have been able to do that since. LeBron is the closest right now. A new market, "International" is out there, but it is hard to figure where people fit in there.Chris Paul should and will be extremely marketable soon. He presents a good image and can play ball. Plus he is a guard. Most big men aren't very marketable in the US.

Oh yeah I forgot about Mcgrady. He is definetly pretty marketable it just kind of hurts him that he's with Adidas who can never make someone as successful as Nike can.

It hurts in the US, but abroad, Adidas is actually a pretty popular brand (mainly because of soccer though). But it helps internationally.

I haveen't seen a McGrady Commercial in ages. I don't think his shoe did so well either. I'll do some research on that & get back to you

I'd have to say Wade and James. And of course Kevin Pittsnogle. His last name just does it."Buy the new And1 Pittsnogle" I'd go for it.

If I had to go with one guy, it would EASILY be Lebron James. Everybody already knows who he is, he is very well dressed, and the public loves him.

LBJ an AI. Melo annoys me, but he is. Pot smokin piece of sh*t. TMac is becoming a worthless player, but he is as well. We've basically covered them.

I would have thought that someone like Kyle Korver would be used to market more, with his supposed good looks (actually, I think he's ugly). But, apparently, that hasn't happened. The NBA is almost devoid of good-looking guys (most of them seem to be Tayshauns and Cassells), so they must not know what to do with them.
