Great win last night! Glad the guys were able to start the season off on such a high note........ THAT SAID, now we move on. Guys are at practice as I type and I know Stotts is getting them ready for this tough road trip. OKC is next up and that is a tough place to play. Wondering how some of you roller-coaster/bi-polar nutjobs on here are going to react if we get crushed by the Thunder and Lillard goes for 10 and 3 with 7 TOs? Not trying to crush any of your Championship dreams, but I'm just hoping as always that your expectations be realistic. Gonna' be and up an down type season if you ask me FAMS!
We've decided to blame you for any and all of the Blazer losses. I'm just putting the final touches on the email campaign to get you fired after the Blazers first loss.
This is an odd way of saying it, but thats kind of the nice thing about this season (for me at least), I dont have a lot of high expectations for the team and I expect ups and down from Lillard. So it makes it nice to watch the game for entertainment and team support purposes and hope for a win instead of expecting a win. If stotts can get them to play fun basketball and play hard Im cool with that - this season.
They would, but he's single handedly keeping the team afloat with his support of the food vendors at the Rose Garden.
I think as long as we stay relevant through three quarters, I'll be more than happy. Considering Harden is gone and OKC is gonna have a battle with San Antonio tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if this game comes down to the wire. Win or lose, if we come out and play hard we should be happy.
Being as the Blazers almost always lose the next game after a home Lakers win I will not be surprised to see us get crushed. One loss won't kill any playoff chances so no big deal to me HCP.
OKC is the defending WCF champion for a reason, getting pissed off if the Blazers lose there would be pretty damned stupid ... As for Lillard, Westbrook is going to be a tough cover for him and tough to get his shots against, hopefully his teammates help him out.
I'm saying this for every game against a play off team. They're good talented and athletic enough to hang with elite teams but will lose a lot of games by a few points due to inexperience and lack of superstar calls. They might even surprise a couple teams if they overlook them. Eventhough our record isn't going to be great I am definitely going to enjoy the games way more than I have in years. They are just fun to watch and we really do have some nice pieces! I'm failing at tempering my excitement about Damian... I actually started thinking "get him some rebounds guys, he's going for a triple double!"
Hey, maybe if we're down by 50, Stotts might play Freeland or Barton. I'm guessing we'd have to be down by 60 for Claver to get in, though.
