As some Christian preachers claim, can we also get credit for the beautiful weather by the Bay? We did have a little rain Wed & Thurs, but we need the rain. Back to sunny and 70s and supposed to be low 80s by Monday. Must be all the gays and lesbians in the Bay Area, right? Little did I know when I came out that I would impact the weather so much.
Possibly, but inner Southeast here doesn't magically have better weather than the rest of Portland...
Gay people are obviously responsible for global warming, which is indirectly responsible for Hurricane Sandy..... so I see the correlation.

People that make claims like that are NOT Christians, they are pharisee's The same people who Jesus came and Called Brood Of Vipers, and hypocrites. They sit above everyone else and make outrageous claims that have no truth. If anyone would read the Bible they would not take these people serious who make these outrageous claims based on how holy they think they are.
+1. This really is a serious issue and as a Christian I find this embarrassing. It's perverted religion, not Christianity. This guy isn't any more worthy of God's love that the rest of us sinners.
What really bothers me is that anyone pays attention to idiots who spew ridiculous things like that anyway. We say it over and over on this board--"don't feed the trolls". The concept is just as valid in real life as on the internet
The problem is that all the members of their church who are Christian stand by and let morons speak for them. And when it keeps happening, every disaster, it does become a reflection on all Christians. I never see stories of the flock leaving these preachers.
Sad part today is Instead of reading the Bible themselves they go by what Man is teaching. When it should be What does God say in Bible and is my preacher following it. Jesus warned of these people

I don't take these morons seriously and of course I know they don't speak for all believers. But at times I just get damn sick of the hate spewing. Because maybe that crap isn't taken seriously but too many people do believe the shit spewed against marriage equality. With so much hate around, I at least would like a little credit for good stuff! And sometimes a joke is the best answer.
It is very unfortunate and the sad part is that these kooks are the only ones who get media attention. Christianity has been hijacked by politics and it's heart breaking to me because it turns so many people off the truth which is God is love, unconditional agape love. My parents are devout Christians (I struggle but am a believer), my dad even has a theology degree. They've been members of their church for 40+ years and it's gotten to the point they don't want to go to Sunday school after the sermon because it's all about politics that they don't agree with.
