The Philadelphia 76ers have hired Aaron Barzilai as their director of analytics. Barzilai is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and had previously been a quantitative analyst for the Memphis Grizzlies and also founded BasketballValue.com. Owner Joshua Harris has long sought an improvement to the 76ers' analytics use in the front office. The 76ers hired more of a traditional general manager in Tony DiLeo.
