Channing Frye, he will be a starter for the Knicks, and I think he will develop into a fine NBA Forward.

Lets not forget a guy by the name of Marvin Williams. He has all of the athletic gifts in the world. All he has to do is get the time and take care of business when he has the opportunity and he will be a hell of a player. He was picked #2 overall for a reason.

i'm surprised to see Ryan Gomes on the list. I don't think he's really an "up-and-comer" per say, but he will be solid for about 10 years.

Wow guys, we forgot a couple of players. How about a guy that was one of the most improved players in the league this last season? Thats right, we forgot about David West. Also, if you consider this guy a PF, I would also like to add Andres Nocioni. If he doesnt go on this list, he should go on the SF list. He is a great rebounder for his size and has a pretty good mid range as well. He tore it up towards the end of last season and during the playoffs.

Nah, Nocioni's a 3. West could be decent for 15-8 each night or so.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Zards @ Aug 7 2006, 11:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>My list:Chris BoshDwight HowardBoris DiawCharlie VillanuevaRyan GomesAl Jefferson</div>Bosh and Howard are the only definites on this list. Bosh is already a 20/10 All-Star, and Howard is arguably the best rebounder in the NBA already. It's impossible to argue about these 2.Diaw, as I said in the SF thread, does not have the physical build to continue his career as a full-time PF. He can play multiple positions, but with his size, build, and skill-set, I see him as a SF.Charlie V - I love this guy. He reminds me of Lamar Odom so much. He can shoot from the outside, can play in the post, decent rebounder, underrated passer, and is a combo forward. He is going to be a special player in this league, and he will be an All-Star. A frontline of Bogut and Charlie V could be extremely dangerous in the future.Ryan Gomes - I'm VERY suprised to see him here. Wow. I don't see him as a future star. He is going to be in this league for a long time, and he is a player every coach wants on their team. However, I don't see him in the upper-class of PF's in the NBA. He will always be servicable, very solid, and a fan favorite, but not a star. He does all the dirty work, can play both forward positions, and can shoot a nice 17-19 footer. But once again, not a star.Big Al has all the potential, but will those damn ankles hold up? He just had surgery on one, which is awesome, but I hope that doesn't affect his development. He has a great post game for his age and has unique moves that can't be taught, and he's a good rebounder. He needs to work on defense though. I mean he definitely improved from his rookie-sophomore year in that department by taking a lot of unexpected charges and blocking shots. But he still doesn't have the man-to-man post defense. But if he can overcome all this ankle BS (and TAPE THEM!), work hard, and improve defensively, I see him putting up close to 20/10. That's his potential. Will he meet that potential? Who knows, we'll wait and see. But I am glad he lost 15 lbs. already this summer. And Channing Frye should be here, not on the center thread. He can play both positions, but like Bosh, his natural skinny build won't serve him well against the bigger guys. He can hold his own, sure, but he will/would excel as a full-time PF.How about Hakim Warrick? He has improved a great deal from last year, and really tore it up in summer league. I know it's just summer league, and it basically means nothing, but he has talent. He is a freak athlete, a better 15 foot shooter than people think, he rebounds, he can block shots, he can play both forward positions just as good as the other, and he works hard. I think he has a chance to be a good player. Maybe not a star, but borderline All-Star could be more realistic.EDIT: OMG. I have 1 name everyone is forgetting about now. Emeka Okafor. Everyone is either forgetting about him or counting him out, and I will be honest, it took me a few minutes to think of him too. I had to edit the post to talk about this. But still, he is a physical specimen, a good defender already, extremely strong, and a banger. If he can overcome these injuries he will be an All-Star multiple times. He is the franchise guy in Charlotte, and with a healthy Okafor they will give you a run for your money.
