Friday night rage dump, so very refreshing. But to elaborate, saying the US has recovered economically (Mr. Powell) after the last four years would be akin to Steve Nash retiring from basketball after his latest injury and saying he's back to normal albeit no longer playing, a farce.
but that's not what he says, is it? I thought he said the economy has begun to recover? but yeah, he's definitely just a talking head, four star generals are a dime a dozen nowadays.
Does Colin Powell endorse Barack Obama if President Obama isn't half-black? Doubtful. If it's John Kerry or Hillary Clinton, he probably just keeps his mouth shut. If he takes pride in Barack Obama being a half-black president, that's cool. However, he shouldn't pretend it's anything but his skin color that earns his endorsement.
Like Eisenhower, Powell was a nonpartisan general for whom both major parties competed. The Republican Party felt lucky to get the moderate. I don't know why you guys think he's a hard core right winger who backs Obama because of race.
Do you vote based on race? It's weird, at least to me, to assume somebody who has spent so much time serving the country would. You could be right, but I think race is only a small factor in General Powell's endorsement.
