The meanest division in the league, sporting 5 playoff contenders. Guess who's #1 right now?

I thought I would glance at the standings one more time why we still are all alone in first place.

    NORTHWEST

    Portland 2 1
    Minnesota 1 1
    Oklahoma City 1 2
    Utah 1 2

I love seeing the records of Portland, Denver, Lakers and OKC. I wish it would last.

Tomorrow night against the Mavs I'm actually feeling pretty good about a potential win. OJ Mayo and Collison don't scare me like Harden/Linn did. Portland should be able to take it to 3-1.

I think OKC is really feeling the loss of Harden.

    Nothing like premature ejockularity.

Remember when the Blazers were like 7-1 last year and all sorts of tv people thought they were odds on favorite?

And what happened? They won only 21 games the rest of the year.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves here KS

I think we all remember, which makes moments like this even better. Let us live in the damn moment damn it, and we'll deal with the repercussions later!!

I think it has something to do with being a NW sports fan, expecting disappointment and cherishing the bits of success.

If this were a race, what would we be looking at? Milepost 0.5 in a marathon, feet still touching the blocks in the 100 meter dash?

Frankly, you both have it wrong and KS has it right.

When do you guys want to be happy? We've had the worst luck in the world - 2 of our future HOFers had their careers cut way short, so we didn't get even 1 championship. The remaining vets quit on the coach, so we fired the vets and the coach. Yes, it sucks.

But, we got either the best or 2nd best player in a 2 player draft at pick 6. Before the season even started the national media got on board. Now, we're 2-1. Not earth shattering, but considering our tough schedule many thought we'd be 0-3. We shouldn't be happy about this? BULLSHIT. It's never too early or too late to be happy, period.

Does this mean we're winning a championship? No.
Does this mean we're going to the playoffs? No.
Does this mean we're not going to have a 6 game losing streak? No.

Does this mean we shouldn't be happy? Hell no.

The real question is are half of the people on this board really fans? It seems like many just want to make doom and gloom predictions (which inevitably the team will fail in some way) just to show how smart they are. Hours and hours of their lives spent on the internet just to feel superior.

I've got a Ph.D. in EE and I'm very smart. Many of you guys are very smart, too. I openly admit that. You don't have to try to prove it.

Enjoy the ride, but inevitably we're not winning a championship this year - only 1 team is.

I'll base my track record of not being full of hyperbole over Erics every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Nice post wizard! Yeah considering what we lost; we are in good shape so far. Will we make the playoffs or championship? It may seem highly unlikely; but there is a chance we could make the playoffs. Aldridge finally has that pg that can take the pressure off of him. One that can play at an uptempo pace that suits Aldridge and the other talent on the roster. I thinking we may be a 6-8th seed if the players can play to their potential. We could go even higher if the players play out of their mind.

Also our coaching seems more improved. It's like the coach gets it and won't pull a player if he makes a few mistakes. Also; we aren't seeing an entire squad a and b shit going on. We always have a couple starters in the game the entire time. Nate never played this way.

Frankly, we need about 20 Erics to balance our population's "shrewd" track records.

His advanced stats show a steady, expected decline from his last year in Portland, too... :sigh:

    A) We were never 7-1. We were 7-2.

B). Those 7 wins were fum.

    C) I didn't get ahead of myself. I never said we'd win the division. I said we were leading the division now. Which we are.

Thanks for having my back, WizardMentor.

    Go Blazers
