They criticize the Ducks defense, and yes we were not at our best on Saturday, but then they make excuses for Bama. I've heard Scott Van Pelt say that, well, the LSU QB was making NFL throws and the receivers were making one handed grabs. That's why LSU was able to hang so many yards on Bama's oh-so-amazing defense. Did Barkley not make NFL throws against the Ducks? Is Marqise Lee not the best receiver in the fucking country? Our defense played poorly, no doubt, but they got stops when they needed to and we won the fucking game. We never trailed (unlike a certain SEC team) and our offense was flat out balling.
I was saying it at the time, I wish you wouldn't have let them score that crap TD at the end. "Scoring 51" became what every announcer hung their hat on to badmouth the Ducks. Heck, in the LSU/Bama game Musberger "mis-spoke" one time talking about upsets of the day, when he brought up ND going to 3OT, K-State losing Klein, and "Oregon only winning by one". I think if it'd been by 18 there wouldn't have been as much grief.
I wonder what SC's stat was for yardage after the catch. It wasn't just the big plays...it was all the times that SC turned a 5 yard reception into a 15-20 yard gain.
What I find frustrating is that Oregon seemingly needs to prove that they're better than Notre Dame and KSU, instead of those losers proving they are better teams than a program that has gone to 3 straight BCS games, played for a title, and won a Rose Bowl last year. KSU and Notre Dame have never won a BCS bowl, period, and both have been mediocre for years. Yet they get the benefit of the doubt, and Oregon gets ripped for completely destroying almost every opponent offensive stat in the USC record book. Fuck 'em. Just keep winning, but if Oregon goes undefeated, and either KSU or Notre Dame get in ahead of them, it will be the most illegitimate BCS title game since Nebraska got in over Oregon.
You guys do realize that the human polls have you at #2 and your vote total went UP last week? Most 'experts' are predicting that if everyone wins out you end up as #2 because you won't slip in the human polls and can only go up in the computer rankings after beating 2 top 15 schools and the championship game. Now, if somehow the human votes start going for ND or KSU ahead of Oregon, then you have something to complain about. Oh and about SVP, did you miss the entire segment where he was saying ND shouldn't even be in the argument? He said they were really good, but a notch below the other 3 unbeatens.
Yeah, I heard the segment. The point is, however, that I hate how they make excuses for SEC teams. LSU has been horrible on offense this year, and yet they hung 432 yards on Bama's "great" defense. USC has had an explosive offense all year, and yes the Ducks defense played their worst game of the season, but they never trailed. They made key stops and they got the win. What annoyed me about SVP was that he was making excuses for Bama, saying that LSU was making NFL caliber passes and that the receivers were making one handed grabs. Why do those excuses work for Bama but not Oregon? People were bashing the Ducks last night because their defense wasn't as good as many of the experts thought.
Florida has won three games by 7 points or less. Florida has a loss. And Florida is ahead of Oregon in the computer rankings--and four of the six computer rankings have the Gators ahead of the Ducks. It's stupid, and it's effing broken. I can understand why the computers might give the nod to other undefeated teams, but it's ludicrous that an accurate ranking system can put Oregon behind Florida. Ed O.
It's just like video games with their sliders... If the computers are told to rank a conference higher than other conferences, then the wins mean more and the losses mean less. The opinion of the PAC12 by the "experts" is significantly lower than the opinion of those same experts on the SEC. Since college sports are sooooo subjective, it really fucks us over.
Make not mistake about this Lee, Woods and as I was sooooo worried to be correct on Agholor are NFL ready recievers right now and Barkley is a very good qb! USC played an amazing game!!!! They hit pass after pass and we kept kicking to Lee which i couldn't understand!!! That said USC would have beaten anyone else in football except maybe Bama that night. We were just that much better and faster! USC has noooooo reason to hang their helmets, that was good enough of a performance to beat anyone else that night!!
