I won't get a company car. (I'm in sales all over the metro Portland area.)

That's what my (small business) bosses told me. :(

A new Toyota Prius vs. my 1992 Ford Taurus?

    Please.

Stop looking for a handout and be responsible for your own vehicle

When they're not providing leads, yes. I show up anyway, though. I've been working there (and no other job) over 3 years with the promise of a company car.

You're basing that statement on exactly what? I've maintained my car(s) for over 3 years....used them in the course of business. Am now one of the leading sales reps....and have not asked the company for one thing.

Tell them to shove the car and spend the money on the leads. What good is a car if you can't make enough money to pay your bills?

They spend nearly $100k per year on leads. No issues there. It's now time for them to slip a little my way, though.

    Heh, they're probably 1%ers. ;)

You're not making a lot of sense. You want a company car for a part time job but you don't want more leads to give you full time work so you can buy your own car.

You sure you're not a democrat?

When did I say this was a part-time job? Never. I average around 12 leads per week. One of my co-workers, who just left the company, had a company truck....and he was INSIDE sales!

That said, if you were a prospective customer, would you think better (as in successful) of my company if I drove up in a brand-spankin' unmarked 1992 Ford Taurus......or a newer wrapped Toyota Prius? Yeah, that's what I thought.

As I mentioned, I've come a long way with this company and have climbed the ranks to give our top sales dog a run for his money. Over the last few months I've consistently beat his closing percentage,

The company has stated that I have "earned" a car. That said, it shouldn't be dependent on who wins the election, though.

I'll sell you my Suzuki 125 for only $50. The chain keeps falling off but you can just put it back on. It's greasy, but I just flip it upside-down onto the handlebars and take off the rear wheel first.

OK, yeah, I get that. We PM'd, as well, and clarified that fact. Anyway, I've had plenty of leads for the last many number of months. It's now time for them to nut-up.
