Congratulations to all those on the Left. I was completely wrong about the character of the country; it has changed from the place I knew. I hope we undergo this structural transition with as little pain as possible.

As for me, given my lifestyle, thankfully I've already made enough money for a few lifetimes; neither myself nor my family will be touched by the change our society will make. I feel sorry for the dreamers, the people that want better from life, but the American people have made their choice. Good luck.

As for me, I'll work a little less hard. Without reward, there's no point.

The country has changed. Not that we don't work hard. But Lindsey Graham said it; there aren't enough angry white dudes. The country is more Black, more Latino, more Asian. More single women. More young people who were around out LGBT folks their whole lives and consider it no big deal. I just don't think a candidate can win nationwide on votes of white males and suburban housewives. And hell, even a lot of them didn't support Romney. The Republican party decided to tie themselves to anti-immigrant, "rape pregnancy is awesome", antigay, birther conspiracy theory elements and are paying the price.

And now I want to sign out and go to bed. I'm sick as a dog which is no state for a cat person to be in. When I start thinking that my cat Orlando mobilized the feline vote I know I need some sleep.

The Republican's should blame the Obama nomination on immigration.

I think it's funny you think I'm bragging. I'm giving a warning. Unless you've made money by now, your station in life is your station in life. And that's if you're lucky.

One day you'll understand that there are people who don't see identity groups, who don't give two shits who you choose to love, who just want to live their lives as unfettered as possible.

Yes the country has changed. We are continuing a path to low skilled, overpaid and uneducated (and increasingly illegal) workers who are going to continue thriving off the wealthy in the country. The margin call is coming. We're going to continue borrowing to pay for a social welfare state until the money is completely gone.

The way to be competative with the manufacturing of china is to have such a low-skilled work force that pretty soon, Chinese companies will open up factories with unskilled american workers.

The problem with this country is that it's become so Republican vs Democrat. The way people are acting, it's like their team just won the Superbowl. They don't even care who they're voting for... their team needs to "win".

that might be true of you, but when you see ballot measures out there making marriage only between a man and a woman, and making it so it was only until recently that gay people could openly serve in the military, or candidates refuse to say that a woman should get equal pay for equal work, or what she does to her own body, it's kind of a hard one to swallow that that is actually how people who voted for Romney felt.

Agreed. It's pretty ridiculous. Go on and continue to act like you won when the nomination was between an douche and a turd sandwich.

Mitt Romney governed Massachusetts. Do you really think he was looking to run as a social conservative?
