Just start playing Barton, Freeland, Leonard, and Claver. Forget Jeffries, Price, and Pavlovic.

There has to be a backup PG in the NBDL, Europe, China, Australia, anywhere, that is better than Nolan Smith or Ronnie Price. Can we get anyone else???

It'll happen soon enough. Literally speaking the season isn't over and those guys won't play much (sans Leonard) ....couple months in and they'll all be playing

    I'm looking forward to Barton

Can't wait for that. I would MUCH MUCH MUCH rather lose while watching Barton/Claver/Freeland hustle there asses off tryhing to earn minutes then the bench mob we got now.

Our bench is crap right now, and should be according to the plan for the longevity of the Blazers. No issues at all as far as I am concerned

Yep. The whole idea was to sink or swim on our core (Lillard/Aldridge/Batum/Wes) and save money for next summer. It's a good strategy.

Meantime, though, it would be kind of nice to empty the bench with all our young guys. They may suck, but are they really going to suck that much worse than Price/Pavlovic/Jeffries?

Smith is the one bench guy I'm fully on board with benching. Send him out to Idaho.

All part of the plan. One player isn't going to get us over the hump. We need a lotto pick AND Mythical Cap Space Player to round out our core. Then we can sign/develop some effective backups. Until then, enjoy the ride. In the process, I think we need to play/develop the rooks and forget the has-beens and never-weres.

I think you have to show Aldridge you want to win now.

We need a consistent scorer from that second unit.

Roddy Beaubois would be a solid addition and he's an UFA (IIRC) this summer.

Nolan has a difficult time dribbling up to the 3 point line. It's a miracle he gets beyond that with his non-existent dribbling skills!

Less than a year ago, some folks here were claiming Smith was a "pure PG". Okey-dokey.

Really? I don't recall, but then again I was pretty detached and disinterested by mid-February.

Oh yes. Heck, I got outright flamed for refering to him as a "combo guard". Rather funny.

So should we target Mayo this offseason? Shooting guard is definitely a weakness right now.
