Would be good to sell it to a current blazer advertiser.

Nicknamed, The Pit. And we thought Sleep Train Mattress Center was as low as it could get. We were wrong, LOL.

Are there still three network shows based in Portland? My wife and daughters are addicted to that show, The Grimm. The Grimm Garden. The game intro videos could add a whole new dimension. Not in our House of Horrors! (Cue gruesome images of mutilated opponents.)

God that would be the funniest shit ever. LMFAO. I'd have to wear a paper bag at games. We could start a new tradition of launching rolls of TP after our first basket.

Would be interesting to see them replace other in game promotions as well.

Wondering how big of a catapult they would need to shoot a portopotty to the 300 level?

I'll believe it when I see it. They've been talking about this for years and I highly doubt they'll be able to find a corporate sponsor willing to shell out a significant amount of money for our naming rights. As far as big business is concerned we're a little town that nobody else in the rest of the country really cares about. The only advertising the naming rights will get them is with the people that go to the arena.

That said, I'm REALLY hoping Wells Fargo gets the naming rights and calls it the Wells Fargo Wagon.

I was thinking Wells Fargo too until I remembered that they already have the Wells Fargo Center in Philly for the Sixers.

But this could be a pretty decent investment if we get some national tv games. We're more relevant than Minny (Target), Charlotte (Time Warner), etc, and they got some big name sponsors.

Hand out mini-port-a-potties on opening night. T-Shirts would have Santa's sleigh on the outhouse and the words: "I said the Schmidt house!"

That won't happen as long as we embarrass the network which puts us on TV everytime.

Hell, if the Blazers sold the naming rights and then used that money to make up the difference in the Comcast/satellite war, that would go even further.

If adidas buys the rights they should call it the Derek Rose Garden

Let's be realistic here. Intel and Adidas have nothing to gain by naming the arena, and adidas could lose money in lost customers. It's going to be someone who is struggling in a market at the number 2 position, but wants to win over sports fans. Something stupid like a restaurant chain or apparel. I think Les Schwab is a realistic possibility.

Why would a company diffuse its advertisement with the word rose?

Would Ford ads say, Try out rose a new rose Ford at your local rose dealer.

Its about getting your name out there. Adidas would love to be associated with an arena that is often mentioned as having one of the best fanbases in the NBA. plus Damian and Nic are Adidas goys.

adidas is #2 though nationally, at best, and certainly is locally compared to Nike. Everybody with even a casual knowledge of sports knows that Nike is based in Beaverton, including many who live nowhere near our market. Conversely (get it?), many people that live in the area don't know that adidas is based here as well.

Adidas also has a big soccer worldwide exposure, and with Soccer being popular in Portland, it would be a good association to have.

The point in naming an arena is when the arena is named on TV or in a national newspaper, its free advertising. No one in New York is going to know what the fuck a Les Schwab is.

It would also be quite the coup for Adidas to come into Nike's backyard and basically have their name on the Blazers arena.
