I think it would help out both teams. Luke Babbitt and Nolan Smith to the Lakers for Steve Blake and a 2nd round pick? It would open up another bench spot on the Blazers and we get a good backup PG. The Lakers would most likely dump Smith and add Fisher. Please don't tell me that Price is better than Blake.
Don't want to help out the L*kers, so...no. would be an upgrade in our 2nd unit though. and I'd like to be able to be following Kristen Blake again on twitter. :MARIS61:
we're going nowhere, so don't care all that much about improving depth with older players. Blake makes 4 million next year. No chance in hell I pay 4 million for someone I hated when he was here, for what couold be one of the last 5 picks in the draft. No.
This is true. Sure there is a good chance we will get nothing out of our cap space this summer, but you still have to go for it. If they cut Babbitt and Smith I think I heard they will have about 13 million to spend. Whatever it is, Blake's 4 extra million would be a mistake.
The only way you trade for blake was if we had a legite chance at the playoffs. I wouldnt do this unless were 40 games in and above .500 Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
I didn't like it when you posted in the other thread, don't like it now. Why do you want to help the Lakers?
No. It takes away 4M in cap space while getting us closer to losing our draft pick as well. Not that I have a problem giving up the draft pick now instead of later, if it's for a good cause or the team's playing out of their minds, but if we get the 12th pick (or better) this year, add a max-ish player or two mid-level-esque players and some decent bench signings, we could be giving up the 22nd or so pick in the 2014 draft. I'd rather semi-suck this year and do that, personally, but I'd DEFINITELY rather do it if it's someone like Blanky (rather than, say, a cheap young player or an expiring) coming back.
No. How does this help Portland? Fans need to understand that unlike the past regime, Olshey has an actual plan. That plan is cap space and rebuilding through the draft. Adding Blake does nothing but potentially gets us 1 more win this season
I thought Olshey planned to accumulate "chips" to trade for a superstar. That is what he said when he first got here. Edit: Too bad you made your declaration to not say anything negative about Smith . . . your missing out on a lot of good material there.
