I'm always torn on this situation: on one hand, I don't want to believe that people just hate for no good reason; I hope there is some deeper psychology about the hate, some kernel that can be found and excised.

On the other hand, if there is (like being closeted), that kernel is a big heaping helping of self-hatred, and I don't want to wish that on anyone (except LeBron, though I don't think he's really capable of introspection).

Hate is such a strong, strong word. Personally, I don't think he (Timmy H.) meant it that way.

"You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known," Hardaway said. "I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States."

I want to amend mine. One of you mentioned him already, but the guy (while a good humanitarian) ruined Kevin Duckworth in 91.

Of course, Duck was a bit overrated...but anyways Floppy Divacs.

Had he not batted that rebound out to Robert Horry, and the Kings ended up winning that series, I'd probably feel different

It's unhealthy to hate yourself. Please throw away all ice picks in your home.

Yeah man, it was pretty blatant. It was one of the funniest interviews I've ever heard, and I don't mean that offensively to anyone but Tim Hardaway's dumbass. Even your average bigot knows enough to keep his mouth shut on a recorded interview. Tim's dumbass just kept rattling on, even after the interviewer tried to give him an out.

I'm honestly surprised that road teams didn't give Tim Hardaway, Jr. shit over that last year. NCAA crowds can be intense as all hell. They'll throw twinkies at overweight players and raise graphic signs about players' underage sisters (ie: Redick's sister). You'd think that by this point, at least one home crowd would have thought about the comments that Jr.'s dad made...
